Call me a completionist, even after running a ton of simulations and knowing the minimum stats needed for my rotations I still wanted to max-meld my gear (Except for the pieces that require Tier V materia. I'd love capped melds but I'm not willing to pay 2m per 1 Craftsmanship).

As for how much gil I went through, I honestly couldn't tell you. I had 40-60 of each TIV materia already saved up and started the grind with ~18m, ending it with 2m left to my name but I also had a stable income of 500k-1m a day from crafting and gathered probably 75% of the materials myself. If I had to guess how much actual gil I ended up spending and not include materia I already had/mats I gathered myself I'd say it would be around 50-60m, a good portion of it being what I bought in mats to get started and materia I ended up using down the road.

To put that in perspective, Favor mats on my server (Tonberry) at the moment are about 25-30k for Ooids and 30-40k for BTN items, and materia is around 40k for Competence IV, 50k for Cunning IV, and 70k for Command IV.

Eeee on my server the command and cunning 4s are between 180-250k each. My poor melds. ;-;

I thought it was worth it to get the crafts V to max meld the neck, earrings, and bracelet (still waiting to get one last crafts V for the belt) for the extra craftsmanship to hit 853 and also because I have OCD knowing those pieces can be maxmelded

I may re-meld when/if Craftsmanship V drop in price/more are available, but I do not envy your OCD when it will come to the Chest/MH/OH D:

Haha because the caps on those pieces cant be reached, my OCD isn't as harsh on me there, thank god lol or I'd go broke otherwise. Will probably wait to see what the 3 star stat requirements are before I start melding those. Also grats, that's crazy that you finished all the sets already! I thought I was decently far along and even then I'm no where close to you =(

I was able to craft all 8 sets through a variety of methods, including buying/farming BTN/MIN mats and Tokens, Tokens donated from good friends and earned through doing favors, as well as a second character for more Tokens/Favors.

Hi, I was considering this bolded method myself, but I wasn't sure how it could work.

Is your alt on the same account or is it a dual box alt? How would you transfer the favors over to your main? I wouldn't think you could drop them into the FC chest (which is faik the only way to mule items across characters), how'd you get that to work?

Since it was a second account I could just directly trade or mail the Favor items, but if they're on the same account I would think you could either utilize the FC chest or have a trusted friend transfer the items for you.

I haven't bought any mats but have bought aethersands...not many but grinding those on top of the favors...I just can't do it all! Just this morning I was contemplating buying mats but I have never had the money to blow. I also have 2 accounts so that has been extremely helpful.
