More job traits and skill upgrade tree? Suggestion.

I was kinda bummed we didn't get any new job traits in HW, still confused as to why we didn't get any more. Not sure about other classes, but the last trait on Bards is at lvl48 and now we're at lvl60. Could've added in 3-4 more traits in.
I know it's not as important, but I sorta liked to see more.

Also, this is a suggestion for maybe 4.0. Would it be possible to add point upgrades to existing skills to make them stronger?

For example, if 4.0 takes us from 60>70, each lvl could give us 1-3 points to put into existing skills to make them stronger. This sorta gives more incentive to level up and look forward to leveling. Since in HW, every odd lvl from 50, there's no bonus.
There are a few ways this could be implemented.
    1. Have a Mastery system for every skill, that can be upgraded 3 (any number is fine) times.
    2. Every lvl gives you skill points to upgrade masteries.
    3. Doing certain quests will also give you skill points.
4.a. Give enough skill points to master every skill by the max level.
4.b. Limit skill points to create more like a Mastery tree.

Could even add skill points to upgrade job traits. Something similar already exists for chocobo companions as well.

I like the idea, it is not going to happen, but I like it.

This way, the issue is removed. Everyone still gets to be the same at max level. This just affects you while you level your character.
Ah sorry, my bad. But wouldn't that kinda take customization feeling away?
I wouldn't mind if there were less points than options like in 4b but yeah, I like your idea 4a too.
Both options are improvement compared to what we have now.

Ten levels and an ability every two seems to have made them rather redundant.

I'd have preferred if we got traits that augmented existing abilities further rather than some new spells. While I love the new PLD heal it would been nice to have an ability to convert strength into a fraction of mind to make cure useful.

More traits, evolution to existing skills, or allow aesthetic customization to existing skills. Those are the best options to prevent button bloating, unless we want to take out some skills.

Im sorry but then there's no point for this if in the end its going to waste. Add a system for that?, no thanks, better use the Dev time in another thing. I think for 4.0 they going to Add traits because more skills gonna break my fingers.

It's not entirely a waste. Leveling up becomes a lil more fun. You get some customization, like do you go for the utilities first, or go upgrade skills first. Seeing your damage increase more and more as you level up gives you a sense of accomplishment. If skills can be upgraded in the future, something like this would be much more fun than just doing a quest every 2 levels to upgrade. Just adding variety.

My two cents.... changing a 'pop-skill' system like we have now over to anything like a skill tree is something that has killed many MMOs in the past. If you start the game out with one, that's fine, but this kind of change really will sour things for a lot of people who started playing before it was implemented. Note... I've seen this happen twice already.

Not a 'skill tree', but a 'Mastery tree'; two different systems. A mastery system doesn't change the underlying system we already have. Any new skills, everyone will still get, but skills would be able to be upgraded instead.
