It would be bad idea, if it's optional. Some people probably wouldn't have it turned on due to many reasons, most common one would probably be that they simply don't have any more room. Then the cries why healers aren't healing their pets/turrents/whatevers.
And no, I personally don't want pet in my PT list but I'll shallow it if it ever happens. Pet/turrents/whatevers are your responsibility, move them or heal them if they take dmg.
It's bad idea for someone who got little screen. The party list will bloated if they one party with SMN, SCH, and MCH.
no hate but i think this will add un-nessisary clutter. picture the party list eith 2 smn 2 sch 2 mch. pt list will be as followed
tank
tank
dps
dps
dps
dps
healer
healer
pet 1
pet 2
pet 3
pet 4
pet 5
pet 6
(cuz turrents count) thats a list of 14. thats is pretty much the hight of my screen.
now picture 2 more parts like that. -_-;; id hate to see the allience b and c list if it showed pets.
im guessing that link is to a thread about lazy healers?
That person is a known baiter. they make posts as click bait for attention a person in said post fully admited all they do is post on here and ff14 reddit being a troll, please stop giving them attention.
just go to their post post each post is THE SAME with a different topic they mad about or some role they think are bad, last role post was about tanks. replace healer with tank and that was pretty much the post.

AoE heals are more than enough to keep a pet alive, unless they are being cleaved. And that is on the owner of the pet, not the healer, to take care of.
I, personally, play on a fairly small monitor and if the party got any longer than it is now, I would have to remove the chat box. :c
As a healer I would actually support this. With the stipulation that the
"Pet UI" is completely optional and may be turned on or off at will.
More customization options are never a bad idea imho.
The pet HP bar could be displayed similar to the alliance list
Agreed, we don't need to know its Selene, Ifrit, or the turrent, all we need to know is its about to die. Though I just got MCH up and the turrents cool down is like 15sec or so? Not that big of a wait for an instant cast vs burning a swiftcast or spending 10sec summoning.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
I'd say the pet interface, or rather lack of seeing other peoples pet's HP is a game design to push the idea that the pet is the user's responsibility and not for anyone else to take on that responsibility if they are to lazy to take care of it's HP or other things. As mentioned if you were to make Pets part of the UI then others would make it an obligation for healers to also watch the HP of those, even though bringing them back only takes a few seconds most of the time or cost a bit of MP.
