It is easy to see who is being lazy and not trying. In that case I'd say something regardless of what I am running. If someone is clearly trying I wouldn't call them out.

I was watching what he was doing and he was doing decent dps. It was more his rotation that people didn't agree with and were being pretty toxic over (usually the other dps). All that happened a few nights ago. Since then he hasn't had anyone say anything. May have just been one of those nights when he had super bad luck with the type of people he got in groups with.It has to be bad for people to make comments like this though. I am on my 3rd class leveling up and I have never seen anyone get chastised for their DPS #'s and I see some of them doing less than half the DPS of others of the same level. He must be doing extremely bad DPS and you can't blame people for being upset if they are effectively fully carrying someone. He needs to do some research/practice on his class if that is what is going on.

This forum's favorite word, everyone take a shot!I was watching what he was doing and he was doing decent dps. You can show your husband maybe and he might get a laugh out of it idk. I have never chastised anyone for doing poor DPS in a dungeon. In all the time that I've played I've only seen two people chastised for being bad. One of the times the run was completely silent until the end where the bard was told, "fix your rotation bard." I don't know if I can call that toxic. I think for laid back content people are generally understanding, but everyone has certain expectations that they expect others to meet.

Seriously though, does it matter what adjectives people use.
Thank you =) I'll show it to him. He's been reading up on rotations to see if he was doing something wrong so I am sure he will check this out. This is the BLM guide that I used as a stepping stone when I got to 60: http://36.media.tumblr.com/9174ad021...edno1_1280.png

Thank you for that, now please excuse me while I go clean the soda out of my keyboard. This is the BLM guide that I used as a stepping stone when I got to 60: http://36.media.tumblr.com/9174ad021...edno1_1280.png
^ This.
Theres way too many people who are just plain lazy and cause dungeon runs to go from 15 mins or so to up to 30. I miss when mmos actually made you do crap in a pt often and required teamwork, most of them now are just single player games that lump people into pts rarely and then half the playerbase still tries to play like they're solo, bringing down the whole pt :/ I miss when everyone would pull their weight because they knew if they didn't, it'd drag down the rest of the pt.
Like today while doing expert, I had a i199 brd in my pt. The run was going incredibly slow, as in, almost 30 mins and barely passed the 2nd boss, so I look at what he's doing... Only spamming straight shot and thats it. So I ask why he's only doing that. "So I can crit". So I mention how heavy shot is what procs straight shot, not to mention the potency is lower on straight shot. His reply? "I'm not an elite player, only casual". That, in no way, is a viable excuse for being that lazy. Dude had 9 60s. Was he so casual he couldn't even read what a skill did, that specifically shows it can proc another skill and has higher potency?
I know people are going to rage at me, but I really feel there should be some sort of lockout to participate in content if you can't even reach the minimum amount of dps required. As in, a quest before they can unlock expert, raids or ex primals, that requires them to reach a minimum of X dps. If they fail, they're locked out of that quest until the next day, so they can figure out what they did wrong and improve. I, like many others, am tired of trying to complete content, but keep getting held back by those 3-4 people who aren't pulling their weight who are hoping to get carried.
I'm not saying it has to be some hardcore quest that only a few can complete to unlock endgame, I'm just saying it needs to be difficult enough so someone who has no idea what they're doing / doesn't intend to learn, can't jump into content and ruin it for others who actually want to complete it, but easy enough so someone who has a basic understanding of their job, can do it.
Ok, well, while I'm a fan of everyone putting in 100% towards a group effort, there's a few things to keep in mind here:^ This.

1) Everyone's 100% is different. As long as they're trying as hard as *they* can, I have no complaints.
2) The dungeon timer is 90 minutes. Finishing in 15 minutes is a bonus. So is finishing in 30 minutes. You should enter every dungeon with the expectation of spending the whole 90 minutes there. If you think 90 minutes is too long, then petition the developers to reduce the maximum time limit (which will then force people to step up their game or perish - but I can't see that being good for the health of the game).
If at the end of 90 minutes you haven't finished the dungeon because someone keeps goofing up, then you have a legitimate complaint.
Thing is, for #1, I agree too, but there's just way too many people who are obviously not even trying :/ It's fine if they're new or trying, but when they're not even remotely trying (that brd spamming straight shot even though I mentioned how he'd do better with heavy shot), that's when it gets annoying. Spamming a single skill, that has a lower potency than other skills, on their main job, with full eso gear, in an expert dungeon, is not trying to the best that that person can.
And when the entire pt is geared enough to complete it in under 20 minutes but its dragging on for over 30 and not even near the last boss because one or two people aren't pulling their weight and not even doing the minimum they can, that's a perfectly reasonable complaint.
