I think the prism system in it's current incarnation is a bit excessive. It's more involved than similar systems I've seen in other games (Not that it's necessarily a bad thing). One kind of annoying thing is having to buy a stack of 3 or 4 leatherworking prisms just to put a glamour on one pair of breeches in an armor set. Maybe they could implement a system like Guild Wars 2 where there is just one kind of transmutation charge that will change the appearance of anything and can be earned through elements of gameplay as well.

As a compromise, make one grade of prism (keeping the individual types), but make higher level equipment require multiple prisms.
This aids inventory space but also keeps them selling better.

No thanks. I rather like the system as it is now, and I've already memorized all the criteria. Honestly that hard to spare 2 seconds?

While the system is easy to use and understand, this is still very true.

We could eliminate each grade, leaving us with a single glamour prism across all DoH.
That is 39 items that don't need to exist!

I 100% agree. You shouldn't need to make a shopping list to change your glamour.

At least with dark matter I can use grade 6 for everything.

Well... Not always. The other day, my retainer brought me back an Oasis Chair. It's a pretty easy lvl36 (I think) CRP recipe. "Bummer," I said, slapped my retainer for bringing me a worthless item, and sent him out again. Then my jaw dropped when I saw that they were being sold on the MB for up towards 11k each. And people were actually buying them for that O.o

So yeah, it's quite possible for inexpensive items to rise in price. It's usually only a temporary thing, though.

It's not that it's too difficult -- and mistakes I make are usually due to not quadruple-checking I'm crafting/buying the right kind. It's that it's overly cumbersome and annoying.

I wouldn't mind the different grades if they at least had the same thing as Dark Matter and Carbonized Matter do, where they allow glamouring of anything UP TO the limit of the item, so you could (if you wanted) glamour level 1 items with a Grade 5.
And to make the lower grades "useless", they could edit the recipes so Grade 1 requires 1 non-prism mat, Grade 2 requires 2 non-prism mats, Grade 3 requires 3 non-prism mats, and so on. ('Non-prism mat' in this case meaning the material you use together with the empty prism. So you'd need 5 Velveteen Cloth for Grade 5 WVR prisms. Not that they'd require several kinds of materials.) I wouldn't complain about this if it meant the Grade 5 was a lot more useful than the Grade 1 and covered every piece of clothwear.

Why have this unnecessary complication? remove the grades and use on general prism per craft.

It seems like it was designed to just eat up inventory space.

As an omnicrafter, glamour prisms aren't exactly lucrative. I'd much prefer convenience in using them over whatever potential profits they could provide.
I can get behind this. I can't like this suggestion enough!

Would probably sell more as people would be able to buy a stack and keep them for glamor instead of having to check which grade is needed when they have the items they want to glamor then only buying the exact amount needed.

BTW, as a maker of my own Prisms, I support this idea.

I would like to see one Glamour Prism for each craft...no 1-5. When I use to make money off this I would have to stock stacks of each which sucked.
Make them base prism harder to get so we can really start making money off these again...they are too accessible I feel now and no...not everyone deserves to be able to glamour...you need to pay if you really want it...LOL.
