https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7873rVbakoA lot of good advice from the OP.
One thing to note, as i have just started leveling my paladin. Please dps, let the tank pull, that is their role, not yours.
I have a policy that if you pull it on purpose, you tank it. Doesn't matter to me, i have the time to waste. I have purposely let dps die for it. If you pull something by accident, no big deal. But if you target something and attack the moment the duty starts, you are on your own.
This is what goes through my head every time this happens.
WinterMaintenance is coming
elitist take game way to serious that's why.
Can't win a virtual monster take it out on others until they find someone who can beat the monster for them.
If they are so good, then they should be able to win without the person who is messing up, no they need to ride on the same board as the professional surfer cause if they don't get that then they don't want anything else and well they scream yell cuss and either drop out or blame the dps and or kick the person.
If they say no they don't then why kick the person if they don't need help themselves?
Games change people sometimes, I have seen it happen in FFXI.

110% confirmed. I've seen a few people I thought I knew pretty well, change quite significantly coming to FFXIV from White Knight Chronicles. It seems that the much more cooperative spirit in WKC has been replaced in some people by a far more competitive, and selfish, spirit that is quite jarring when compared to the cooperative spirit of old.
On a side note. if you go Tank or Healer your queues are super fast 95% of the time.
So if you have limited time to play and want to get the most out of it. Play tank or healer, you will still enjoy the game.
