You can't compare this to something like enraging Turn 2 to avoid Allagan Rot. Your average group would not be able to recover from the multiple deaths in A4S without being extremely coordinated.

So much salt in this thread.
You're all just jelly you didn't come up with the trick yourselves.
Yes, I'm sure everyone in this thread is salty they didn't spend their time coming up with a cheese strat *rollseyes*. If the game allows for this kind of cheese then so be it - when you have no player testing this kind of stuff is going to happen (and you really can't or it gets spoiled...), oh well.
^ I'm not sure whether you were trying to rebuke or support my point, but you ended up doing the latter.
I'm not sure how exploiting a gameplay flaw to flat out ignore 2 core mechanics of the fight is "a trick". Nor am I sure why I should be called "salty" because I feel that this should be patched out, even if they don't revoke every non legit clear that happened until then.
Inb4 comparisons with T2's allagan rot : the rot was NOT a core mechanic. If you wanted to deal with the haste buff, that was up to you.
This nisi cheese is more akin to something like getting rid of the brand in T12. "Nope, not gonna deal with that compulsory mechanic sorry"
Unless they finally manage to fix this games strangely huge latency issues it's not something they actually can do anything about.
Like the suicide squad method is literally taking advantage of a game flaw that's been around since the first day.
And personally I feel if sending people out to die over and over so others can focus on dps returns better results than trying to do the mechanic as intended, it was a poorly designed mechanic in the first place
To this day I have yet to ever skip Rot in T2.
I can only imagine how boring it'd be just standing there... waiting.
That being said, sacrificing people for mechanics are pretty valid, I'm not going to knock it.

How exactly is SE going to patch latency? Obviously they like the way this latency 'mechanic' works, at least they liked it well enough when it was literally bathing players in blood on Titan Extreme (before we all memorized the pattern and can predict each move to compensate).
It's just that this time players were taking advantage of it rather than being at its mercy. Bloody brilliant, in my opinion.
Both teams ended up using this server trickery in the end. (Granted Lucrezia mass produced the idea and now every raid team and their dog is using it.)
There's a difference between cheating the fight and exploiting the oversights of the developer. The very first clears for T5 before Blue Garter took it down were done by completely breaking Twintania's AI (I believe it involved disconnecting during death sentence. Forgive me if I'm wrong.) The groups did not win the fight, there wasn't a fight to be had, and as a result Square rolled back their gear and achievement and put the instance in maintenance to fix the bug. (They actually did a similar process to the Navel at launch when you could break Titan's AI script by having someone jump on a pillar outside his arena.)
A4S' Sac method is the exploitation of the faults with both Square's net code and mechanics design of the fight itself. I absolutely hate the method, but unlike all those cheats back at launch, I don't think anyone's clear should be revoked. It's the developers responsibility to make sure that their net code works as intended and that the mechanics in each fight works around it. In this case, they did not, and those lucky few have capitalize on their oversight.
I don't think anyone's clear should be revoked, especially since Square can't just pick up the raw data to see who in particular they need to roll back data on. The fight still happened. That being said, I do feel that the fight should be patched and tweaked to remove the sac method, as this method involves server trickery on top of exploitation of the game's mechanics themselves. On a personal level, I don't consider these clears "legit" and I won't consider any future clears from these same groups "legit" if they do patch it, the two 210 weapons they get every week will easily make up for the DPS loss they would be hit with if this method is patched out.
