    There are lots of things to do but i guess not everyone likes to do all of them, gathering, crafting, raiding, pvp, FC crafting, money making etc.. those are just examples what i usually do when online. Someday i focus on one thing and second day i do other to keep things fresh.

    Calling ff14 1.0 a copy of 11 is kind of a stretch. I mean they did things to make it a hardcore game. Also the whole traveling situation was more insane than 11.

    I'm not even too sure ff14 1.0 recieved much inspiration from 11.

    I myself was shocked at the time. . I was under the impression that it would have been a instant hit given how well ff11 went.

    There I was launch day feeling like a winner when I came home with the collectors edition.

    And the 1.0 beta testing... Jees what a trip.

    I have tons of things to do too. I really don't have the time to do it all. Seems those who are mainly focused on war/magic battle related game features run out of stuff to do. There is only so much content of that sort that SE can make and that doesn't take forever to get through.

    So yeah errm FFXIV 1.0 came (I wasn't aware of the game at the time)

    Answers from playerbase: ... (Yoshi-P took it to heart, and apologized more that a cacpot jackpot)

    then 2.0: Oh heall yeah! That's how an MMO should have been done, good work SE!

    then 3.0: ... (Yoshi-P is already apologizing for stuff, like the neverendingly stupid Moogle Quests..) <-- yes, I am on the sides of those who thinks that it's a bad copy-paste of 2.0 with little shinies so we think it's a whole different update. (yeah right)

    So I have all my hopes set for 4.0!!! It will be once again, reborned! Yay!

    Ok I admit, can't wait TGS for 3.1 new beast tribes to do and other stuff, but don't tell anyone

    Recently I realized that this week, i'll be able to grab my last worthawhile esoteric equipment. That means i'm essentially done running roulettes for the next few months. Sure I could:

    -Level another class(that I won't ever use again)
    -Gear up another class(that I won't ever use again)
    -Take up crafting/gathering(which I dislike, i only bothered leveling them until i realized that i wasn't having fun with that)

    but none of that is fun to me. Savage drains the living hell out of me. I'm not saying there's no content in this game. Technically speaking, that's incorrect. It's just that the content available isn't tickling my fancy anymore. If 3.1 doesn't show some promise in TGS on Friday, i'm letting my sub run out next week and take (another!) break from this game. For some reason, I put up with the same stuff in 2.0, but i wasn't bored of the game. I don't know why.

    How many ilvl increase cycles can a person take before they catch on and lose interest?

    Depends on how much they enjoy the content.

    With vertical progression models, you can't afford to be nihilistic about how long you'll use the gear you earn or you almost certainly won't be able to enjoy it.

    One of their problems is that they dont have stairs... its like a vertical straight robe climbing.

    The AF gear Quests from 1.x were fine...

    What do i mean with stairs? Lets look at dungeons:
    What if we have one overlay of a big open world on top, then lets say we are going into a cave (first dungeon)...
    while exploring the cave we get hints to unlock a location where we can fly into air (second dungeon)...
    while exploring that dungeon we get special equip to dive (unlocks third dungeon)...

    You get the idea?

    those dungeons are more like open world "maps" where we have on different locations special "events" like boss encounters or bossrooms or such...
    While on other locations we can save (no danger, as in towns) or meet NPC friends who accompany us or who give us quests...
    The key is to have it focused on the "sight of a player" (make it an adventure) and not just be it a hack&slash like trash killing game within a limited small "map" where you can only go one "path"

    Edit: One of the problems will be group actions: they have to make sure that you can take friends with you even when they are not as far with story as you are!

    Forum join date =/= game join date. Started in 2.0 beta, took a break at 47 or something because they lowballed XP gains and I didn't want to grind AV, came back, hit 50, leveled other classes a bit, took another break until shortly before the Heavensward head start.
