Please allow me to respectfully disagree (in part). I know a lot of over-18 "kids".

"Kid", in your meaning ("me me me" etc.), is not an age. It's a way of being. Some people are born "kids", and stay so all their life. Other people are born real men or women, and stay so all their life.
