Washed-out colours/bad lighting?

Messing with the videocard's control panel image settings should be a last resort thing, only when a poor quality or dying screen won't let you adjust the picture to acceptable levels.

Also the game is naturally not very colorful so...

Graphic settings as in the games settings, not video card.

The game is just right in terms of brightness. it's strange to me why people would have this issue. But I also know that if you play the game on analog video output rather than digital, your missing out in quality.

Oh. I don't think there is anything there that could wash out colors, even texture quality won't. Probably not a case of analog degradation either, you would see lots of distortion along with the low saturation. :/
