While the whole selling of raids for the loot can be debated weather its right or wrong lets not go any further than that for this example.


A tournament where you are supposed to win with skill. Its not debatable its wrong it didn't matter if SE made a mistake in this its wrong and people know it's wrong yet they buy and trade wins any way. So yes you can hate the player.

The tournament already fails at winning with skill if you're allowed to choose who you play against without consequence. As such, I can play against the same person and win over and over again, making that point moot. If the tournament was intended that way, SE would of made the changes to the tournament that decreases the amount you earn from just farming with one person, getting rid of early bird bonuses, etc. In order to win at this system, you have to cheat to beat the cheaters who exploit the system, and while I get what you mean, it's ultimately SE responsibility that tournaments have gotten this way, not the players using their skills to exploit a system by pinpointing its weaknesses.

No, they've repeatedly made it worse.

They raised the rewards especially on the high end making it more appealing to wintrade.

Then they go and nerf the rewards to fight npcs punishing those that want no part of that.

As far as whether it's against ToS or not it'd fall under the win-trading that happened in pvp in wolves' den. It wasn't against ToS, just discouraged, and Yoshi was quoted as saying there would be no punishments for the win-trading there; that instead they would make it less desirable to do pvp that way. And that worked; nobody does that anymore. So it's just odd they've gone the opposite way with dealing with the TT wintrading.

Don't forget about the discouraging rules, like Random or Order, that make it impossible to get into the higher rankings without wintrading. Have they always been like that?

Those don't make it impossible to make it to higher rankings without win trading. Random and Order simply make it... Albeit frustratingly, challenging and forces you to think with what you're given. You can still attempt to bait etc but it does add elements of luck to it. We really just need limited plays with certain players and maybe redefine how you actually play the tournament... Make it sort of like speed dating, everyone has to show up to sessions throughout 1-2 days you get a max number of plays and it pairs you with random people who are in the session.

Hey, that's not true! It used to be difficult to win the tournament without cheating, but SE addressed the issue and made it impossible to win without cheating!
