With everyone being "the grandmaster of hands" now no one need to buy anything as they can craft everything even 2 star items!
With everyone being "the grandmaster of hands" now no one need to buy anything as they can craft everything even 2 star items!
Bad example
Many people were omnicrafters in 2.x too and still tools/gear were sold at a pace that you could easily make money with it (or equip yourself at a fair pace)
Now? If you're lucky enough you might sell a piece in two or three weeks and/or might be done equipping yourself in 5 month >.>
And this topic is very specifically not about those items. But you are picking a single subset of the economy that is in a rough spot. There are tons of items, across all crafts, that cost <20k or a venture or two to make, that sell and move for 150k. If you are a crafter, you can make 1-2m per day with a pretty minimal time investment. Gathering is profitable as well.
That's not the case, it don't sell because it's not needed yet or obsolete (the adventurer gear is obsolete) and also not cheap enough to everyone afford to them, people still buying Skin related item, and 150 stuff...
Why it's so high priced ? because of the mat, you have a lot of times involved to farm them.
Few people in my server craft 2 stars, so the fact that everybody is GM is completely false.the two stars craft is not wished, when a expensive Thavnair Robe is wished and they sell everyday, a 170 craft tools is not wished, and you can also get it from easier way than pay XXXXXXX Gils to have it, so it don't sell at all.
I play this game too much and I still can't nearly afford that. Even if I could, I'd be disinclined to throw all my gil at a single item.
I'm not saying that your item prices are unreasonable, but I can't buy what I can't afford.
yeah the mat value is a problem
Only dedicated crafters, Coil-sell groups, and (of course) gilbuyers can all afford to pay that much, though even they'll often be disinclined to (especially in the case of the crafters). There's a serious imbalance in the economy right now, because these items are only really financially feasible to the "1%." Even some crafters are going to be shelling a lot of their money out at prices like these. I've been a crafter for a very long time and I've always generally had excess gil, but I'm still only sitting at 40M right now, which is small potatoes compared to some of the other folks on my server.
the problem is the mat : a aurum regis ingot for exemple can cost 1500000 at least, if you take your mat yourself it cost only times.
When you calculate the cost of the mat of a off hand it cost 4700000 of mat at least if the crafter put the price up to 6000000, it's affordable for almost nobody...
even if the crafter take all the mat himself he have done 3 hours of farming at least to get the mat, so he put the price high. We have to considering crafter put a lot of money and time to get crafter 60 and caped to make this two stars craft.
So it's why it's expensive and why it don't sell, crafter should craft at reasonable price, and they can't.
A big problem is the cost of the mats and the work involved in getting them.
Now for the main problem - "Job specific" - most things if not all can be crafted with i150 gear HQ melded as far as I can tell which can be used across all classes and the red scrip gear is a boost on the melded 150 gear. So at the moment its a novelty no one is willing to pay for at the moment artisan gear costed 1-2m a piece the i170 is costing way more and there is ALOT more pieces to obtain because people want to be versatile with there crafts not just settle on one set.
SE screwed up would have been fine to make it difficult to HQ but the mats needed to be reasonable its fine to make profit but the prices that need to be set to make somewhat of a profit no one is willing to pay cause there is just way too many pieces to obtain would have been better to just make a universal set for all crafts people might have been willing to pay then since you only need to buy 5 pieces but now it is 40 pieces at around 8mil each do the math no one is going to pay for it.
