Tanking in this game is easy (DRK/WRD here) specially on dungeons.
If people complains about long runs its because DPS are garbage. Honestly when im not DPS (My main job is NIN ) and im playing as tank, dps never uses LB, they never try to do it better. They just sit there auto-attacking a mob without even using their dots.

I log online and I go
/FC Gonna go run expert who wants insta queue!
and I get
(Free Company Peeps) Sweet invite me!
Then I run a dungeon and drink some kool-aid.
Tbh I am guilty of not using DoTs/Debuffs on trash when playing DRG. I just can't get myself to care enough to do it, it's effort on stuff that will likely die before the things finish ticking most of the time... :XTanking in this game is easy (DRK/WRD here) specially on dungeons.

On the other hand I would NEVER complain about the run taking long, and I will do my damnest to get as much DPS as I can on Bosses/DPS checks.

I started to play as a tank because I wanted shorter wait queues but now I rather wait 10 minutes or more as a healer or a dps because of the people that you meet with the DF, if I want to relax I can play as a healer and I know that I have more control, even if we get a shitty tank most of the times I can handle it and I know that I will get all the recommendations, as a dps I only need to worry about my rotation and that's it. I now regret my choice because I invested all my esoterics and gear on my DRK and I don't even want to tank anymore, I should have stayed as a healer T_T

Tanks and healers are both high pressure roles. You could have the top 2 dps on the server in your group. But if the tank or healer sucks its going to be wipe after wipe. Myself I prefer healing! Because its a lot less pressure then tanking!

I always SMN my experts because most DF DPS are garbage and at least this way the tank and healer aren't put through a total wringer. I have pugged a grand total of like 2 experts since HW though, preferring to either run with static mates or cap Esos through PvP.
Our static MT would only pug them (he liked the comms), but our static OT would pretty much only run them with raidmates to eliminate any hassle.

So in your "like 2 expert" PUG runs since HW, was enough to determine most DF DPS are garbage? Alot has changed since then. Not that I had many issues pre-HW. All I do is run PUG DF and with the exception of one time, in HW expert roulette all DPS did their jobs, only time a wiped happened was with a new person to the run.

I still do leveling roulette, where in the Vault they often push numbers of around 300...which was pretty bad pre-HW, let alone post-HW. But youre right, maybe 3 levels later they magically get good and I shouldn't base my experiences off of that.So in your "like 2 expert" PUG runs since HW, was enough to determine most DF DPS are garbage? DPS performing poorly rarely spells a wipe, just makes things longer and more painful for the tank and healer involved. You can't really use your value of "expert roulette wipes" as a barometer of DF DPS performance either. :P
To bring this back to the OP, why would a tank use Duty Finder if he or she knows that they can get a group that will clear the content less messily and more quickly from their FC or LSes in about the same time?

That is low. Atleast at level 60 you work towards the better gear, which will help even to lowliest of DPS. I'm only ilvl 186, my shield lob alone will hit for over 450 and that is my weakest attack. I think now people are geared up fairly well, expert runs can be done with eyes closed, almost.
