I wish they could make the dye system similar like in GW2, where you can even dye little details.

It was brought up in the Small QoL Improvements thread:1. It is really great to have upcoming 3.1 function for trying multiple gears at the same time, this is one of my old concerns. So is that possible to also add the "try to dye" function on the "try on" window? Not only me but also lots of people on reddit tried to ask or search how does a weapon or gear look on different dyes. So it will be awesome to try on a weapon or gear, and we can also change the color of weapon or gear under "try on" window.
Currently, we can only see how different color works on a weapon or gear after we obtained it. It is really ridiculous.
Of course, there are a lot of features that reached that "looking into it" status years ago and never got implemented, so we don't know if this one will happen, but at least SE is considering it. I'm hoping we get it.
I would also love to see more armor being dye-able.
And I also want to have pieces have a "dye trim" option, where you are able to dye two pieces seperately.
However this brings up an issue. That issue being that old armor would likely not get that at all, seeing that their models and textures are already made.
For a cloak and a chest (or a chest and shoulders etc) to be seperately dye-able,
those pieces have to be on a seperate UV-map (texturemap)
OR be on a seperate material layer, whichever way SQE made it.
I doubt they would rework all of the armor models, but I would def love to see it on new armor pieces!
I also have a thread regarding an other big issue on dye-able armor pieces.
For those who want to take a look ^^

It is good to know that! Thank you Niwashi!
I have the same concern with your post, Ariabeth!
My only issue with dyeable dungeon gear is it will make a lot of the crafted gear rather obsolete since most of it is basically dyeable versions of dungeon gear. Since such gear is seldom actually worth the its time and cost investment in actually combat value, it would make a lot of such gear valueless. I'd say the vast majority of crafted gear's value is in its glamour factor.
No. That gear has different textures then the crafted gear. The non-dyeable parts are textured differently. My only issue with dyeable dungeon gear is it will make a lot of the crafted gear rather obsolete since most of it is basically dyeable versions of dungeon gear. Good. The ability to dye gear shouldn't be locked behind ridiculous prices for a special armor skin.My only issue with dyeable dungeon gear is it will make a lot of the crafted gear rather obsolete since most of it is basically dyeable versions of dungeon gear. Remember your words if they make it happen and then..
SE: "We have made multi dye-able gear in game, and have reworked old gear to be allowed to be dyed. Because of this X feature and Y feature that many were hoping for have been pushed back because of time constraints"
