    Question Regarding Houses

I've been reading a lot of information on this, but I would just like some finalized, first hand replies that are current to make absolutely sure I understand the process.

Basically, I'm looking to buy a large plot of land on Hyperion (Legacy).

I found someone with an old FC that has a large house that is willing to sell it for 40 million, which is a price I'm completely fine with for a large plot.

The problem I'm running into, is the fact that I'll be stuck in this FC forever if I want to keep the house. Now I'm not 100% on how this works, but from what I understand, if I want to make this a personal house, I would have to demolish the house, relinquish the land, and then rebuy the property as private property. So if that's true, not only am I looking at the 40 million buyout price, but since Hyperion is a legacy and "rich" server, a large plot of land starts off at around 80-90 million gil.

So in total, I'll be paying between 120 - 130 million gil to claim the land and convert it from FC to personal, which isn't something I'm comfortable dishing out.

That said, is there nothing else I can do here or is that just the way it is and I'm screwed with paying outrageous amounts of gil?

Also, if I make it a personal house, can I give someone else full rights to decorate / access and/or change anything they want? Also, can I give people outside of the free company access to change things even though they're not part of the FC, and can I change a free company name? haha.

Thanks for any input in advance.

I don't understand. Are they making you join the FC to buy the house?

You would be paying this twice. The guy who owns the plot now wants 40 to give it up. Then you would need to buy it from the board before someone else did for the full price of the land.

Yeah I was worried that was the case.

That is a brutal way to get a house.

Paying for the empty plot will cost twice as much as paying for the house to be vacant in itself XD

Damn, does an empty plot for a large house on a world like Hyperion seriously cost like 80 million? lol.

It's only made worse because you're buying a large plot. I wish you the best of luck!

Can a FC appoint a new leader and they in turn would have the authority to relinquish the land? I don't anything about how that works but the other way of paying someone to relinquish then having to buy the plot at full price I know is true.
