Oh, no, there's never an excuse for that. It's frustrating when you die, yes, especially when it's because people chose to ignore mechanics. But I've found that parties in which people begin to swear at you are the parties that won't perform well at all. Everybody's in a bad mood because of the hostility, and they under perform.

One or two people spoiling an entire run is definitely sad. My enrage was always Scylla. People never understood that different alliance received different numbers of ice/fire balls that needed to be shared amongst the entire group.

Personally I think the 'player rage timer' is measured in wipes. Each wipe tends to bring out the worst in people, with the shorter fuses only needed a single wipe before exploding. A good run, even overgeared, doesn't set anyone off so it's hard to equate overgearing to an abstract idea as 'player rage timer'. Nor is it universally applicable. I, unlike many, will keep trying, wipe after wipe, until the party as a whole gives up because I don't believe in giving up. As such, I'm not a very good indicator of 'player rage timer'.

WoD during its prime was a great example. We'd wipe wipe wipe to each boss, and people would refuse to change their strategy or vote abandon, even when it was clear we were not going to win. It drove me crazy.

And the most "positive" people (people saying after wipe 3 with no improvement things like "We can do it!") were, ironically, often some of the main culprits of why we were wiping. I guess trying to make everyone stay blindly positive and be happy with infinite wipes helps throw negative attention off themselves.

I prefer strategizing and getting people to listen and stop wasting everyone's time to be better, personally. Motivational speeches don't do much good when people don't know what they're doing or already aren't trying and don't feel pressure to.

I don't care about the lockouts. I don't run Alex normal anymore after getting whm right side done and a couple pieces on left and doubt I'll do savage ever.

But when I constructively point them to the right direction they refuse especially from a so-called "friend".

For me I am free-spirited, even if a friend wanted help and I wasn't in the mood or busy doing whatever I flat out refuse to help them and the way I say it to them depending on their character, passive people I just apologize, aggressive ones I say it to them in a direct way.

Well, i have a very high enrage timer. Salty players don't bother me in the least, will likely never see them again otherwise. Hell, my main is Derpknight and the salty tears feed my "Salted Earth"
Some raids however are notorious for having salty people.

    Pre-Heavensward it was definitely LAB/ST/WoD
Nowadays? Alexander. Or how i like to refer to it: Alexsalt (A1), Alex-salty(A2), Alex-saltier(A3), Alex-saltiest(A4).

Friends of mine refuse to run Alexander due to how unfriendly a large majority of people are in those raids.

You have 2 kinds of runs really, haven't found any types in between:
Type 1: Super easy, Super friendly people, doesn't matter if people are new (The group likes the bonus) and explain tactics if needed. People do their best and have fun.
Type 2: YOU'RE DOING THIS WRONG! AND THAT! AND OMGWTFSTFU U N00B! I IZ ZO MUCH BETTER THAN YOU! <--- It's safe to say this is never a smooth run, often these are the people whom are the ones messing up to boot.
