    Tips For A3S With SCH/AST

Hello! My static recently got into A3S and is currently coping with the massive raid damage, which means I haven't found time to pop into Cleric Stance and DPS properly as a SCH quite yet.
While it's not too important since we are still progressing, I know that at some point, it's preferred for the AST to solo heal while I DPS, and I was hoping people may have tips for how to handle the raidwide damage to achieve this.

The way you deal with that is you clear it a few times and get gear from it so you can overgear it. It'll happen on its own with gear.

What part do you want the AST to solo heal?

If you mean the whole thing...It's a bit odd to not have the SCH heal a bit for that turn but... It's not really that hard for p1. Just keep Aspected Helios up, supplement with the occasional Helios. Aspected Benefic on the tank, Benefic here and there to top up. (AST can do this while stance dancing to do decent DPS)

Now when the hands come out it does step up a bit. Use Lightspeed when appropriate to help reduce spell cost for AoE spam. After the second digititus, I like to use synastry on one of the tanks since the SCH DPSs for that health split thing. Tornado... pretty much the same as p1. Keep up the regens, supplement with plain heals as necessary. p4 my group is still figuring out.

The real issue, if the AST does all this on their own, is going to be enmity. Make sure your tanks are up to the task.

Thank-you for the response. I suppose I should have clarified that I don't mean the whole fight, of course, but more or less what parts should be solohealed/are solohealable so that the SCH can DPS, which is exactly what this post gave me.

Ok great. The real reason for a SCH to help with healing... You can drop cleric, insta-indomitability, and cleric again in less than the time of a single GCD. This will help a lot with enmity generation with minimal impact to your DPS (hopefully? I don't have SCH to 60 yet so I don't have experience in the latest raids on it...). Some videos I've seen also have the SCH use Eos to help facilitate this but my group's SCH uses Selene.

Hand split phase with the DPS check part-- that is definitely solohealable with nothing more than an Eso weapon. It's a bit tricky but with some practice your AST should get a sense of the timing for the big cleaves. If your tanks have a few drops + eso pieces it will be even easier. Good luck!

P1: Shouldnt need to do more than 1 indom or succor on the last set of splashes. Deployed adlo should be enough of a cushion that the AST can heal the first set.
P2: Full dps, during the big double cleave part you may need to heal MT for a bit as AST usually CU here. When it splits go back to full dps until hand of pain, help top tanks off for 5th and final cleave.
P3: Usually swap to Eos here, you can full dps but make sure you swap to adlo tanks for drainage. I like to use Fey Illumination for the first set of busters(stronger adlo) then Fey Covenant for the second.
P4: You don't get much time to DPS in this part. You can throw up sets of dots between mechanics and broil a bit but digititas forces you to heal. Your only windows are the between the beginning of the phase until you get digi, and near the end when the second embulous bubble spawns when digi falls off.

This is how I did it with my group, your AST might have a totally different style.

^ This. I main WHM and I come very close to ripping hate pretty consistently, even if I avoid over-healing. We're still progressing so our tanks used to be full fending, but we actually had to make them go 4 Fending, 1 Slaying. Which is actually something we've never had to do in progression before. With LA not being a enmity dump like Shroud, your AST is going to have to time their LA's with when they have to do the most AoE healing to avoid building too much enmity.
