Does instant transportation effect game immersion?

Say.. out of curiosity, and i did read you sig before you told me to do so and i found it interesting.
I'm wondering, if they brought a new patch removing the instaport, would you have gotten over it fast?

Yes so freaking fast your head would of spin. Why? because its only 5 mins. I would like to travel faster but its better then walking. Now if they take out the ship altogether then it would be like how it is now. Which is why SE is ADDING ships and for that matter chocos.

(unless im confused and you mean taking out anima? But if your taking about taking out the insta airship ride no i would not be mad as long as the ride is still there and its MUCH faster then walking. but i would rather skip that damn Boat ride from LL to Ul'dah and so would you. So this time SE is giving us the option. Do not tell SE to not give options. thats silly)

The way airships are currently they don't serve any express purpose they are just being added to be added, I know it takes time but I'd rather them worry about content instead of putting something in the game to do absolutly nothing we can't allready do.

I said it before ports should have just been dropped to 0 from city-city for the time being if thats the only reason they are putting the airships in. I'd rather see the airships arrive with something to do on them than just be there.

They also gives a glimpse of hope that the devs still cares about airships, it also gives something new for the reviewers.

Once again you are confusing time with difficulty . Traveling faster does not make the game instant easy mode.

Please stop using the "by your logic" people. Do you even realize that can be used both ways? Its a stupid concept to base any argument over. Do you even know why MMOs last a long time? Its not because of taking 10mins more to travel. Its because of well thought out content and Successful expansions. the more content they keep adding the longer the game will survive. WoW, EQ, and FFXI all would be dead right now if they didn't add the expansions to them. Other words saying that parts of the base game of an MMO is what keeps it going for 10 years is really ridiculous.

Some of your biggest flaws are your flawed assumptions and constantly using the "By your logic". Just because someone wants this doesn't mean they want EVERYTHING to be the same.

I love peanut butter. I eat it anytime i can. On some fruit, on some Veggies, with cookies, and with many things. to me it goes great with many things. But does that mean I want or think everyone should eat peanut butter with everything? of course not.

I have read it and its wrong. simple as that. Do not assuming anything talk about what is actually happening and all thats going on is you can skip a CS and travel to city to city without waiting on an airship.

Yes it still takes TIME to rank up to max. it still takes time to get HQ gear. it still takes time to craft. nothing is changed by a city to city airship the game has not changed. Time is essential for CONTENT not get to 3 places in the game. You still need anima for all camps there is not unlimited insta ship for Camp nine ivies or camp iron lake you will still need to waste anima or walk.

So your point again is flawed.

lets just make everything 2-3times as hard and skip the running? that way u can just die and stuff and have to redo trying to run past 5mins of running rather then 10-15mins of empty space. kinda like what i do with offline games, i play on the hardest mode right from the start, die or not over and over, i will get past it and then not do it again. /vote

Its also companies failing to realize how to make a profit these days.
You can:
A: copy the best guy
which almost always results in a failed product

or
B: Take whats good from the best guy and create something new and innovative.

This game was originally innovative and if released a year later would have probably been very successful.
ex. everyone says the world is copy/pasted, but if you explore you'll notice almost all the little nodes covered in 1-shot kill things are unique looking and not copy pasted in any way (cept coerthas)

with a change in devs it has turned into a complete copy of WoW though.

Wrong, With the new DEVs it is doing what you have said, taking the best things from other MMOs and making it their own and not being a WoW clone. I have yet to see them make it like WoW or any of the changes really making it like WoW. At the very least the game is more successful than when it started and is on the road to staying alive instead of dying out completely.
