The Garleans didn't defeat Midgardsormr directly.

Midgardsormr was defeated because he darn goofed and stayed wrapped around what was essentially a big bag of explosives.

If he had made the same mistake back during Allag's time, he would have probably died then too.

I remember reading somewhere that Midgardsormr was basically just napping during the 3rd Astral Era. It likely wasn't anything official, though.

But if he had, would he have been reborn then as he has now? I've always been curious of how many corporeal vessels he's occupied.
