God forbid if a company wants to make money. The whining here is real.
God forbid if a company wants to make money. The whining here is real.
God forbid if a company in the business of making an entertainment product doesn't require a bunch of extra payments ON TOP of your monthly payment to have access to all of the content.
Imagine if HBO had a base subscription model, but if you want all of, say, Game of Thrones you have to pay extra on top of that because that way they make even more money.
Okay, that's enough of that bullcrap. You're treating an aesthetic feature the same way as content-gating. You might as well be comparing not being able to buy a dress to not being able to get into a room in your own house.God forbid if a company in the business of making an entertainment product doesn't require a bunch of extra payments ON TOP of your monthly payment to have access to all of the content.

Yet by affecting my gameplay it does effect general gameplay, you can't define a MMO's "General" experience when it in it's core is designed to cater to multiple archtypes of peoples. The long story short some people are being told to get the most out of their subscription experience they need to pay above and beyond what other people do.
That's not cool.
I don't have the emotes because I payed and skipped the events and I could care less regardless, doesn't mean I can't stand up and say the practice is rediculous. The whole cash shop is rediculous.
1. It's "ridiculous", not "rediculous".Yet by affecting my gameplay it does effect general gameplay, you can't define a MMO's "General" experience when it in it's core is designed to cater to multiple archtypes of peoples. 2. I am 99% certain of this fact: If it wasn't on the cash shop, it would not be in the game beyond the event it took place in. Want evidence? The 1.0 tattoo. Give me that. Or the 1.0 Goobbue mount. Give me that. You can't, can you? Because it's from 1.0. It does not exist in the game to be acquired anymore. And I bet you that, if the cash shop didn't exist, a lot of the stuff you're whining about being on the cash shop would be whined about in regards to people not being able to get them anymore. Do not pretend for a second that they would just include everything in the same seasonal vendor. They wouldn't. Hell, people are begging for the Lightning Strikes stuff to be in the cash shop for this exact reason, which further constitutes my point.
But by putting it in the cash shop you 100% guarantee that it won't be in the game!
Why can't the short quests to learn the bomb dance and the like just RE-APPEAR during the event for anyone that didn't already do it?!
Okay, allow me to rephrase in that case. There is no METHOD OF ACQUISITION within the game, and by putting it on the cash shop there will with 100% certainty never be.
Your certainty of a method of acquisition not coming into the game without the cash shop was 99%, remember? You are in other words saying that without the cash shop there is a slim but PRESENT chance of getting more things to do IN THE GAME to get stuff.
Now you're just grasping at straws to prove a point. This isn't Phoenix Wright. You can't prove your point with anecdotal evidence. Stop it.Okay, allow me to rephrase in that case. There is no METHOD OF ACQUISITION within the game, and by putting it on the cash shop there will with 100% certainty never be.

Funny you talk about 1.0 stuff. Back in 1.0 it was tradition to release the previous years items on a vendor for a minor gil cost. The philosiphy behind it was it was exclusive to the event for a year and beyond that it was good content to keep in the game with no sense to remove it. There is no reason to remove the content from the game and to put it behind a paywall, the only "Sense" it makes is financial because SE marketing department knows people will shell out the cash for content removed from the game that they payed a subscription to make.
In all reality supporting the cash shop is supporting the removal of content from the game. Without the financial incentive to sell the products for cash they would most certainly find their way into the game as they traditionaly did, it would make little sense to not.
The legacy Tatoo and 1.0 Goobue are a tad different mainly because they were promised as exclusive items for 1.0 players, putting them on the cash shop would be the ultimate slap in the face to the players of that time, where as the seasonal events have no such promises of exclusivity asides the year the event happened.
But you know...to each their own.
