The existence of "FFXIV Encyclopedia" in the future.

Do you think we can see the existence of an encyclopedia about FFXIV in the long future?

Do you think we will see one someday from SE? Or do you think Anonymoose will write one?

You're absolutely right, kog985. There is a TON of world lore in FFXIV and a very large potion of it goes wholly unnoticed by the player base. Having to search through various websites, screenshots and files to find what it is you're looking for is something a normal player probably isn't willing to do. I suppose that's one of the reasons why this, the lore forum, was created.

Do I think the XIV team will put together an official encyclopedia detailing all of the existing lore? Honestly? No. And I wouldn't expect them to. Finding these lore nuggets scattered throughout the game is part of the game itself, they wouldn't want to create a shortcut through it. Part of me thanks them for that, the other, not so much.

However, a fan-made encyclopedia is never out of the question. I'm not making any promises, but, yeah, if there ever does one day exist a clean, detailed and user-friendly "handbook to Hydaelyn", there's a good chance it'll exist on the same wiki that Anonymoose and myself work on.
