I want to start healing, but i'm not sure what class to start with. I main melee DPS. Astro, white mage or scholar? I doubt i'll be doing anthing too crazy with it like savage raid or extreme trails. Please give me some suggestion of where to start.

CNJ/WHM is probably the most straight-forward class, as it doesn't require multi-tasking or micromanaging additional resources. It's also a class that's require for SCH and provides you with multiple vital cross-class skills for both AST and SCH.
i would say white mage too. easy to learn, crosskills for the other heals, yes, and you will get a mount at lvl 30 ^^/
WHM is straightforward, but I find SCH much more forgiving because of their infinite mana.
I herd scholar can be easy because your fairie heals most of lower content XD
Whitemage is the most straight-forward and it is a class I would recommend spending at least 8 levels in for Protect and Cleric Stance regardless of what class you pick.
The playstyle doesn't change that much between CNJ and WHM, so if you play to LV.15 and Sastasha, you will understand how the class and job works in most content. As you level WHM, you basically get a few more AoE options and buffs to your heal spells. If you decide it's not for you, the cross-class is at least essential for a SCH and AST and is not a complete waste.
Scholar has the fairy. Between the fairy and the raw mitigation/barriers you bring to the table, you can go entire pulls without needing to cast a heal. That means you can spend more time DPSing or whatever. It's a lot more forgiving, but be aware there's a high skill cap when handling the pets.
AST requires the most resource management and detailed knowledge of the other classes. The buffs are extremely powerful, but only if used the right way (e.g. putting ewer on monks or spear on anything after combat starts). That said, AST is also the most mobile of the healers. Half of their abilities are instant-casts or can be converted to instant casts. If you prefer the more mobile playstyle of a melee dps or are having stutter-stepping as a caster between casts, you may consider this. Just be aware of the resource management and knowledge of classes beforehand.

I'd say Conjurer, for one simple reason: You get to start healing earlier. Scholar can't queue up as a healer until level 30, and Astrologian starts at 30 when you already have many different abilities to manage (Although, you COULD do Astrologian and queue up for level 15 dungeons to start with, and move on up when you're comfortable.
While this is true (and it's very nice after leveling and then doing roulettes) it's important to learn how to HEAL on a healing job. I would also recommend you start with CNJ/WHM so you can get practice healing in.
In fact while leveling AST one of the reasons I didn't lke getting any of the first five dungeons in low level was because I rarely got healing practice out of them... most of the time I was able to DPS easily and heal maybe...once/twice a pull. Not good healing practice.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
As others have suggested, CNJ / WHM gives you the most straight forward approach. The majority of the toolkit is healing upon more healing upon more healing and the challenge comes from using the right amount of heals without going overboard. It also teaches you MP management along the way. Definitely a good place to start.
