Ring space in the armory chest is only okay when most of your classes are the same level. If all of your classes are at 50 and 60, then you're going to have a lot of overlap. Tanks using the same tank rings, crafters using the same crafting rings, etc.
But if you've got classes across all levels, then you've got serious inventory issues. There are 33 classes in the game right now, so in the worst case scenario that's 66 rings. When you've got an armory chest that only has 25 slots for rings, that's just unacceptable.
It's 23, Beckett - but still an issue. Assume you had everyone at 50 by HW launch. Level one healer, one tank, one caster DPS, one melee DPS, one crafter, one gatherer - now go unlock the new jobs ... you are REALLY pressed for ring space at that point. Leveling classes in a specific order to avoid running out of armory space can't possibly be intended.
How about an MMO that doesn't clog up your inventory with a wing for every bat you slay, drips of saliva from every plant you slay, and blood from every beast you slay? I never picked stuff up in WoW because I didn't need to spend extra time organizing my bags every couple of runs. This game I don't even have that option.
That being said, if you were hunting Terra you really should have had a few slots empty beforehand. If it was a random run, then, you've lost out on nothing, really.
Well, beforehand, maybe he did have some empty slots. It's easy enough for people to go into a run hoping for a particular drop and clearing out some inventory slots ahead of time in preparation for it, only to find out they underestimated how many of those slots will get filled with random other stuff in the meantime before the drop they were looking for comes up.
I like LOTRO's solution to the problem. If your inventory is full when you get a drop, it goes into a bag called "Pending Loot". You get a warning, and then have an hour in which to clear out space so that you have room to transfer the item(s) from that pending bag to your inventory. Any items you haven't collected after an hour disappear. That gives people time enough to finish what they were doing, head back to town, and sort out their loot. Up until the time that feature was added, LOTRO had been nearly as bad about inventory management as this game is. Just giving people time to deal with their loot drops did wonders for it. (Of course, since there many of the loot drops are cash substitutes whose main purpose is to be sold to vendors, clearing out space once you get back to town is a bit quicker/easier than here. FFXIV might not see quite such a dramatic improvement from such a feature, but it would still be a really big help.)
Only Terra, Ultros, and mini-ultros drop from this fight. If you clear three inventory slots, you'll never get a full inventory while farming this fight.
If he wasn't farming for it, then it's more of a major case of Murphy's Law than anything. Which is equal parts funny and tragic.
To be honest, it's partly your fault for having such a cluttered inventory before going into a trial, but for the game to throw away the first card in favour of the second is quite arguably, dumb.
(Then again, this is probably a days-old thread and replying now won't solve anything)
And that's how I lost 1 Ravana Token.![]()
