I wouldn't completely agree that DRK has higher MT DPS than WAR. If anything, I would say pretty closely equal.

In tank stance, DRK retains 92% of its base damage while WAR retains 90% of its base damage. However, WAR has VERY powerful DPS CDs that DRK doesn't. Also Inner Beast and Steel Cyclone ignore the penalty. Not to mention the ease and power of stance dancing on WAR.

I just think WAR has higher MT DPS than DRK (I can't personally test since my WAR doesn't have the same ilv weapon) and if anything they're equal at worst.

DRK HAS a higher MT DPS than WAR. Not much, but it's actually the case. If you're using Reprisal and your Low Blows procs as soon as you can, you're basically making up for the lack of offensive cooldowns that WAR has. Don't forget also that DRK has higher base potencies on every moves and a lot of damaging oGCD abilities (WAR only has Brutal Swing). I've tested it, in an actual fight as MT where you get hit and can benefit from Blood Price and regularly parrying shit, you're higher than anything a WAR could do (Assuming we're both staying in our tank stances ! That's what MT DPS is about). Not by much, but you're higher.

This does highlight that "ease of dpsing" is a major factor in the tanks.

In terms of DPS levels when staying in tank stance, worrying about threat, and generally being a turtley defensive tank, it's DRK > WAR >>>>>>> PLD. In terms of DPS when allowed to go all out on a target without caring about threat or mitigation, it's WAR >>>>> DRK = PLD.

The problem is that there's also a third rating - "ease of transition". Warrior can easily toggle stances without wasting GCDs, and generate huge amounts of threat even in deliverance as their highest threat combo is their highest DPS. DRK can easily transition into DPS form by jsut dropping grit, but have no bonus threat on their optimal rotation for dps - they can more easily generate huge amounts of burst threat though.

Paladins are the worst by a mile at transitioning to DPS. They need to spend a full combo-breaking GCD to swap into sword oath, they do mediocre threat when in DPS mode, and they have less threat modifiers on their threat combo meaning they need to do their super low dps halone/shield oath combo more frequently.

Thus in -practise- Paladins fall so much shorter than the others, and DRK is quite a bit behind Warrior - most encounters allow a reasonable amount of DPS toggling, and that pushes Warrior closer to their optimal DPS.

Okay, it just didn't seem to me that DRK's base higher potency values made up for the lack of offensive CDs. Specially with how powerful WAR's CDs are (Unchained is 33% effective increase for its duration and Berserk is OP).

As I said I couldn't test it myself since my DRK has a Hive weapon and WAR doesn't and I'm not about to fork all that law to get a weapon I already discarded. :P

Warrior= only good tank.

Dark knight= only one half decent enough to bring beside warrior.

Paladin=garbage tier and should be avoided like the plague.

Warrior....... is what you call POTENTIALLY A BEAST depending on who is operating the skills and cooldowns , harder to operate in high level content...... but a blast. It can do anything a PLD can do defensively but Hallowed Ground IF you know WHAT TO DO......... getting to that level is not fast. You can go from doing 1300dps in a burst to taking a tank buster in moments

PLD well ....... it has the best cooldown rotation thus mastering it means you can take any hit.
