    They won't replace.

    You can't use new abilities in level synced dungeons. If they add something that outright replaces something else in the rotation while leaving that old ability there, you'll still have bloat because you need that there during the sync.

    Hence the morphing suggestion.

    Abiilty - Effect

    Level 65 trait - adds X bonus effect to Ability, this stacks with existing bonuses.

    If they released 2 new abilities and 3 traist than they better be the most fantastic and op skill ever. Since they level cap is going to be raised to 70 I think they are going to add 5 new abilities to replace some of the abilities gained from 1-50.

    You are right about the level sync crap...totally forgot about that. Maybe some of those skills would change into the old one when at low level...how hard would that be to do...that was a good though other poster. I just don't want to get to a point where we don't get anything new at next level cap...that just would feel very underwhelming. This is my first "Real" MMO (only played FFXI to level 20 and had to quit due to not party to do the level 20 content I needed for weeks....it sucked so bad, I really wanted to play it and missed out) and would like to know from you pros...did other MMO's stop giving you new abilities when the level cap went up at some point...thanks.

    WoW went the avenue of giving you abilities every several levels and like every 15 you got to choose one of three talent choices, some of these were passive and others active abilities.

    Used to be you'd get a new rank of an existing spell that was designed to replace the old ones, but some folks actually used the old ranks for niche purposes, such as mana conservation.

    Their button bloat was pretty disturbing too. I shouldn't need six full hotbars just to contain everything. There *is* such a thing as too many abilities.

    I'll take 5 abilities I'll use all the time over 10 in which I use 5 all the time, three more maybe once a fight if that, and 2 that the stars must align to use, therefore doesn't see much use or sucks so bad no one uses it anyways.

    I always thought it would be nice if jobs got traits that changed the effect of their cross-class abilities. Add an enmity effect to Cure for PLD, have Invigorate be partially shared when used by BRD, SMN Blizzara could inflict a short DoT, that kind of thing.

    Depending on what they added it could give some jobs better choices with what they set, and others like Invigorate and Swiftcast could at least be different for everyone who sets them anyway.
