I am not attacking him so much as his ideas. Then I'm surprised that the dev marker has been consistently appearing on a few topics here and there. Perhaps those "devs" are actually Chinese hackers. Hmmmm.
Either way, that's not an excuse for how you're treating Yoshi-P. At least provide something more constructive rather than; "Novelty is all he's got" and "new direction is crap". I can't really see devs getting much feedback on to how they can go about it from such statements, can they? Just because you're upset or in disagreement with a few options does not mean that we can take it all out on Yoshi. Spare him; he's only human.
"let's turn this into WoW as fast as possible without preserving any of the good features of the original FFXIV, nor evaluating the repurcussions of what we are doing"
That is not a good design philosophy.
I don't know how much more abundantly clear i have to be about this point. But to put it in layman's terms, nobody is going to want to play a carbon copy of WoW without the wealth of content, or a copy of TERA without the combat system and political system, nor a bad photocopy of Blade and Soul without the cobat and gear versatility, nor a SWToR clone without the huge amount of story-mode content and voiceacting.
Having a vision and commitment to that vision is better than trying to capture the dregs of the MMO market that probably have better games to play anyway.

Its named mule. You can make one too. When you have multiple characters you can just choose one and hide the others, regardless of their rank.
Check my profile and you will see. I have 8 characters in this account but only my main is set as visible...i could've set a mule if i wanted to stay annonymous...
And yep, i do loved the original FFXIV. I know it was full of bugs and had some major flaws...but the potential it had was bigger than any other MMO i ever saw. I bet that if they resume it now, very soon it would surpass FFXI and FFXIV in quality...and in population possibly...because its just like the consoles...people wanted hardcore consoles with HD image and badass games...and still Wii, the casual friendly console, was the one that sold the most. Many many people might say they hate Wii and its games...but still it does was successful in reaching its target market.
And now that Wii caught the casual players they will hunt the HC players with Wii U...and i bet Lienn's wet panties that again, if they don't screw up in one of the necessary factors (like, as example, not allowing external HDD for storage or not accepting USB KB + mouse) it does might just keep their casual players from Wii and steal a beef of HC players from sony and M$...because while the tablet controller might like dumb, the flexibility it offers to developers is just amusing!
I know the example was completely off-topic... ^^: i just hope it was enough for comparison purposes.
Pretty hard someone that never played knowing how the game works...maybe he didn't play much, but this also doesn't matter. At least i evaluate opinions by what is written here and not by character profile.Too bad this isn't a mule. This is belgianrofl/gifthorse, the most infamous troll in the forum since day one. He buyed the game 4 times in a row since he get banned everytimes for offensive posts.
And he NEVER player. So basicly, he keep buying the game just to insult people in this forum(TRUE STORY)
And i must say that if he's really Belgianrofl i'm surprised...because he had a complete opposite vision i had, while gifthorse and the user# opinions do match with mines. But, well, this is what i call being rational...being able to re-evaluate his own opinions as new info become availble.
What the flyin' flipper is a gifthorse?
I really don't want a FFXI-2. There were a lot of things that worked really well in FFXI and I think there's nothing wrong with bringing some of that into this game. I think right now this game still stands apart from FFXI, but I guess we'll see if that's still the case after the inclusion of the job system and a few other major updates.
