Atma Weapon !?

Do you think there is a possible connection between the Allagan Weapons and the Reptoids of Azys Lla? Both are very similar in shape.

Probably, we know that Allagans liked to mix and match genes/ body parts of various different ....creatures. The Curator has the same body type, but the torso is clearly that of an Ixalion or Owlbear

Its interesting. Now you show that picture it makes a lot of sense. Its worth noting though that there are test tubes in Azys lla that have pieces of dragon in them. The weapons could have been a kind of cybernetic magitech Chimera.

Its worth noting though that the Ultima weapon seems to be referred to as a machine. They never seem to suggest its actually comprised of living pieces.

That's artwork of Proto-Ultima (which is of course, directly referencing FFVI's Ultima/Atma Weapon). If you've ever caught a glimpse of him flying around during the super FATE weather in Azys Lla, that's what he looks like. While Ultima Weapon is a machine, it appears Proto-Ultima is some sort of chimerical creation like many of the things on Azys Lla. Whether it is some sort of suped up Reptoid or not is anyone's guess, but I feel that is far too simple an explanation for something that seems like it will be pretty important in the coming plotlines.

That image is in the artbook, Vej. The CE artbook has a ton of cool stuff, but nothing that hasn't been implemented as of 3.0

FFXIV Lorecrafting Tip: The simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

The art work is, in fact, of Proto-Ultima, and, as the name implies, it is the prototype for the Ultima weapon fought in The Praetorium, and was seemingly created from the chimerical reptoid beastmen also found in Azys Lla.

Allagan Fun Fact: The Hropken of Churning Mists and Opken of the Dravanian Hinterlands are another Allagan-created beastman race, evidenced by the less evolved Proto-Hropken fished up in Azys Lla.

I interpreted as such ever since since I saw the Reptoids' morphology.
