Tahri, i agree with you, the ones that are outright hating and insulting the hairstyles are wrong, but, there is something to be said about some of those selected. 4 of the 25 finalists chosen are essentially the SAME hairstyle, one being a real life pic ( #1 and #14), then the hair bun style (#13 and #19). #9 is essentially just quistis's hair from ff8. Don't remember if the rules said they had to be original styles, but maybe it was overlooked? alot of the styles are just very similar, and it honestly is a little disappointing that there isn't more of a diverse selection to pick from. I'm not hating on those that were picked, because effort was given on designs, but its the people who picked that are at fault, not the contest entrees. i honestly hope the top 3 of each are entered, since alot of the styles are fairly similar to what is already in game.

There's quite honestly not much to be said at all. The devs gave us an opportunity to add to their creative license. They don't owe us this level of representation that this thread is forcing them to deliver. Quite frankly if they were to see this thread, do you think they would want to do this kind of event ever again? The devs don't owe us anything. They have the final say on as much as they want when it comes to ffxiv because it is their game, not ours ultimately.

If you really want to complain about being misrepresented, go complain about something more important like the market system or job balancing. This level of petty is not worth the time when there are legitimate issues that affect the core game.

If you go in a red wine (whine previously !) contest, and half the crowd spit the finalist bottles, it means the contest is broken.

Half a dozen at best who are posting in complaint are not even close to half, try not to exagerate that much plox ^^

whoa now, don't attack me for feeling like i'm owed something, i NEVER said that. I simply pointed out that between the contest entrys they showed in the live letter, and what they gave us to pick from, lacks diversity. i am allowed to feel that. I never went ranting and raving they need to recount or change them, or flew off the handle. i only pointed out something i noticed.

No one is saying these things. People are concerned because many of the finalists are what we ALREADY HAVE NOW, with minor differences. There is a noted lack of originality among the choices for males and females.

That doesn't mean I begrudge the finalists their happiness (apart from that one entry that got disqualified, and any other plagiarists should they happen to exist). It merely means I wish SE had chosen to give us more variation to vote on.

Am I upset my entry didn't get into the finals? No, because I didn't submit an entry. Mostly because I wasn't allowed to (EU player not living in the UK, France, Germany or Spain).
Do I wish a particular non-finalist would have been in the finals? No, but I do wish there'd been a bit more variation.

same here nox, lets not forget about #9, also pretty much stolen from quistis from FF8. how did that get past the judges, considering it isn't an original design....

Well I hope the side pony tail does not win... For AuRa female this will be a pain in the ass due to our horns so expect alot of clipping with them... And if No. 21 wins ... I want to be able to remove my damn forehead scales (some female AuRa cannot remove forehead scales) and well there is 3 side tails... Just with minor difference 1 got a plate 1 got a flower 1 just plain... I did expect something more rock or stylist but all we got is crap but I do like no 16

well, the winning style might still even be tweaked, for coding orclipping reasons. honestly, i think that style would be fine on all the races, though, i do think it might look a little off on a roe, but it would be right up a lala's alley, cute and feminine looking, and i dont think it would be too big of a problem for au ra, honestly, i am praying #16 wins, its unique, and different than anything we have in game at the moment...
