Do you notice the effects of your cards?

Not a fellow Astrologian (yet).

But I notice when I get a card from an AST.
And when I'm in a random group, I feel so special when I get the buff out of all the other DPS

Sometimes I'll throw an enhanced balance/arrow on someone and time dilate it and then I brainfart and throw another card right on them when they still have like 15 seconds left.

of course, sometimes things like that might happen....me too! Its not a shame to make mistakes, thats not what I meant!
But when I'm in A1-4 (for example) and the other AST overwrite my cards most of the time! This is not what I call: Mistake

and it happens A LOT! o . O

If you pick a single dps to pump during a fight with balances and arrows, extending durations when possible and parse, you definitely notice a difference just by eye-balling the parse. It's harder to see it if you spread the love around.

Disclaimer: I am leveling Astrologian, and thus do not have any experience with endgame content as AST, so I won't talk about that.

As a leveling AST, I feel like all of my cards (even Spear, what's so wrong with this one?!) have an impact in my level range. I throw a Balance on the highest level (or melee if both are equal) DPS, I throw Arrow on casters, Spear on Tank or Arcanist(Scholar) for their Aetherflow, Spire on tank (this regens a lot of their bar, holy crap), Bole on tank, and Ewer on either a non BLM caster or myself. I feel good with any card I Draw, and with Royal Road, that just makes things even better.

The thing with spear is, that it just works on Skills you use AFTER you've got it!
If spear would work with CDs that are already on, then it would be much better.....but so, its really hard to play it, unless you're not in TS or so

And for this fact, I use spear almost every time just for RR or myself.....for I can't estimate the use for another class....(and spear still works "just" for 20 seconds)

This is something I dread too. I'll often try to wait for the other AST to cast his card just so my extended balance/arrow won't get overwritten. Expanded is a whole other thing, though.

It is a beautiful thing when you get another AST that can adjust and work with your own cards.

That said, I mostly notice Spire on tanks, and Arrow on blm. Seen drgs get really jolly at balance card, but I don't look close enough to notice the boost

I THINK I do, but the problem is that when I play my SCH, I DPS and DPS HARD so it's difficult to really know whether or not my cards are actually benefiting the group enough to justify playing AST over SCH.

I find AST a lot more fun, though, so I'll stick with that unless SE nerfs it or something, at which point I might just start tanking full time...
