Phoenix down is for knocked out characters.

In some cases KO stands for Killed Off, though admittedly not often.

But here in FFXIV there are

-resurrections from healer classes
-if you have Echo you can body jump
-maybe Echo can help you raise the dead we don't know but never underestimate deus ex echo
-Elementals can pull your aetheric spirit from the Lifestream, if you ask super nice and have a relative they can read
-prayer and invocation of a primal (not actual resurrection)
-our Light
-the potential for us to scream a desperate player to our mum, Hydaelyn the All-Made-One.

With Haurche though, specifically, is a strong sense of ludo narrative dissonance when he dies in your arms and you are, say, a White Mage.

"I JUST SPENT THE LAST 45 MINUTES BRINGING PEOPLE BACK AFTER BEING CRUSHED, STABBED AND SET ON FIRE BY MEMBERS OF THE HEAVEN'S WARD I CAN FIX THIS LET ME FIX THIS!"

I mean. After resurrecting your party three times over fighting Sers Adelphel, Grinnaux and Charibert, in their Knight of the Round forms no less, and healing the party through massive amounts of damage losing Haurchefant to one hit from one of these dudes must be a real bummer.
