Request can anyone draw my toon

Fine my character but some of us call them a toon but thanks for the bump

and i for one will never understand why they call it a "toon" it makes me think of a character that looks like bugs bunny or some lame children cartoon, Not even sure where this silly phrase even came from.

I remember characters being referred to as toons occasionally, but it was a long time ago. I also (randomly) recall giving nice gear from one of your higher level character to one of your lower level characters as "twinking."

Well if it helps at all I heard 'toon' being said quite a bit over on WoW when I was still playing. Maybe it depends on what MMO and community.

Why does it bother you guys so much? Are you going to go around and question why people call DDs DPS? "Looking for a Damage Per Second" doesn't make much sense either.

1st, no, it dosn't bother me, people use silly words all the time, that's them. it's just something to silently laugh at.

Second even SE calls the offical damage dealing jobs in this game Damage per second Just like in FFXI they were called Damage dealers because there was no trinity system, (SO DD for short). But everyone call it "DPS" for short (even square in almost every aspect of this game...) So that makes no sense for a comparison.

However, Names like (toon) and other silly knicknames people came up with like "Pally" for PLD are user made up names to look.. i don't know, funny?

It bothers forum posters enough to call it out every time it appears, similar to the common misspelling "tombstone". I prefer saying Pally over PLD, since I can actually pronounce one without sounding each letter individually, but I say Paladin anyhow, and SE uses it because it's been long used for everything now, most notably in WoW, where toon is also commonly used. I don't even know why FFXIV uses it since they don't allow us to actually see our DPS.

It's just a word people prefer to use, but every time someone has to come and go "lol toon".
