Why are DPS so upset about tanks coming close to their DPS?

TBH I haven't seen this complaint from DPSes.
The only complaints about DPS focus on tanks I've heard comes from healers, who have to deal with inexperienced tanks forgetting to do Job 1 (LIVE) before they do Job 2.

I hear it mostly from tanks as an insult to the dps("jebus crap this dps is shit, he's only 100 above me and I'm the tank!").

I agree with you. PvP is a very small minority in this game. More the reason it shouldn't be balanced around it. I know that this game is running a VERY solid system where PVP balance will never affect the PvE balance.

My original point, however, was the simple fact of an overly "powerful" character is not a bad thing to the group's health as long as that said character will never be against me under normal circumstances.

Oh please, I do not remember the last random DPS I got from DF that was even 100 DPS ahead of me. "And I'm the tank!". lol

It must be so exhausting to micromanage people playing a game. I can't imagine how that would be any fun at all.
