I love this game. However idk how I feel about the way red Mage will be designed. In ffxi. It was the bread on the butter. Just full of uniqueness.
With the way they homogenize classes I doubt red Mage would be nearly as unique.

I more up for a beast master class. it might cool to see a attempt made to make beast master pet tanking class. i love see if this possilbe to have pet tank class

My kingdom for a Dancer class! I loved it to pieces in FFXI.
Red Mage is two things;
White and Black Magic user.
Sword/Rapier user.
They can make it plenty unique off that alone. One could argue that our Healers are already half that (all having both heals and nukes), but the only Job that really makes use of both melee and magic in a particularly good fashion, is Dark Knight. Though even that seems a bit lacking.
Red Mage, as either a Healer or DPS Mage, or even a Tank, that also uses TP for various combos, could be fairly unique in this game. Paladin and Dark Knight are really the only Jobs that properly use MP and TP, though they're very limited in that scope. I imagine Red Mage would make for a perfect Melee/Mage DPS Job, similar to Bard. Not casting for each GCD action, but just having access to a lot of support related skills while also being the first Job to really DPS with magic and melee.
I mean, right off that bat; Most combos in this game simply lead into another, or debuff the enemy. Lets take Red Mage, give them some Fencing combos, and have them buff the Red Mage. Whatever its role is, it does some melee combos to obtain a buff for its spells; Either to nuke or heal. That would be pretty unique in this game, and I'd love the heck out of it. Combo > Spell is pretty much unheard of in his game. We don't really have a melee/mage hybrid, and Red Mage is the prime Job for that role.

This was a really neat idea for an anniversary quest, I really enjoyed it!

Red Mage is exclusively for Yoshi-P.
Additional Limit Break might surface upon implementation.
Eorzea's End - It delivers a server-wide area of effect attack with potency of 999999.
Dude where's my sprout

BLU should come in as the tank. It'll be a storyline about becoming a monster to defeat monsters. Level 30 quest line will have us go through some horrific questline to test our resolve, making us figure out who/what is a monster and who needs to be protected. Basic combo's will revolve around body parts turning into claws and horns. Special attacks like the Couerls Lightning wave, Bom's explosion, dragon turtle reflect, a counter mechanic where you can reflect a weaker version of the named move, and the like will be CD's or combo finishers. Weapon will be a whip/chain for attacks that don't involve body morphing.
Also, things like the Couerl's lightning wave don't have to be offensive. Could be a shield of lightning, or stomping the ground could weaken incoming attacks. Spike's to reflect damage could be a passive defensive aura. This can be an actual thing, it just won't be the Blue Mage that was in FFV-XI; it'll be wholly aimed at meeting FFXIV's needs. With how DRK's story went I'd be really interested in seeing them take the approach of us becoming monsters while keeping our humanity. A blend of WAR and DRK more or less.
If it goes the route of DPS I won't be mad, I just want them to focus more on becoming a monster itself than simply casting monster spells.

Out of everything I found in that room the two that really made me excited were:
Doomtrain
Blue Mage
But all the little hints, laughs, awesome touches and trolling (good trolling!!) going on in that room was amazing and now I can't wait for 3.0 and into 4.0 for more information~!
I kinda wish they would leave that room up year round and have a NPC that would take you to it - and they could change the things each NPC says throughout the year to hint at things. It would be a super fun way to let people know whats coming up~!
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.

How to make a FFXIV Red Mage:
Enhancement Shaman from WoW + add of FFXIV touch to make RDM fans happy = FFXIV Red Mage
It is very hard to decide how to approach RDM's I imagine. You have the group that wants it to be a rapier user with magic, then the group who wants to utilize healing and support abilities, the ones who like black magic and some debuffs, and the ones who like it all together. Unfortunately trying to make that all a thing makes it a cluster job with a loss of identity. I know it is the Jack-of-all-trades, but it still ultimately has to be under a set role and SE has already said they are not changing the formula any time soon.
If you play Enhancement Shaman in WoW, you can see how this could be translated to RDM. It is just opinion though.

If Doomtrain is happening, it could easily be part of Hildibrand season 2. Yoshida already confirmed that's in the works.
Who better to suplex a train than Godbert Manderville?
