To Yoshida and team, Thank you for this wonderful game and especially a job well done on Heavensward, I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for this great game.

To Yoshida and team, Thank you for this wonderful game and especially a job well done on Heavensward, I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for this great game.
Honestly, the evidence of sheer overwhelming passion for the game is enough to dispel any potential "iffiness" over the whole fourth-wall thing. It's not like SE hasn't done this kind of behind-the-curtain stuff before, either.
Over the past week or so, several of Blizzard's developers and community representatives have had severe meltdowns and retreated to their Twitter hideouts, only coming out to blame the players for all the things that went wrong with Warlords of Draenor in a storm of delusional denial, with one openly admitting he doesn't even like or participate in the tedious grind of current "content" they're forcing on the remaining players.
In contrast, SE's team not only created an in-game version of their offices and employees for players to visit during the anniversary event, Yoshida's avatar explicitly apologises once again for the initial arrogance that almost destroyed FFXIV entirely, and thanks the players for being an integral part of the ongoing restoration effort both outside and inside the game.
Conversations with the other developer avatars on the 18th floor make it quite clear there's a real love still burning and evolving here, and that while the edges may still be rough in some places, they're not just going through the motions like the walking dead behind WoW's current paint-by-numbers design.
Pedantic quibbling over numbers notwithstanding, the torch and crown truly have both been passed, and that's fine by me.

The positivity is really inspiring. It made me tear up for sure. Definitely appreciate all the effort and passion that goes through the game.
The team in FFXIV really is a group of people who worked together to construct a tower of babil from pebbles and makes people's visions and passion take shape.
Thanks for the reach-out!
Of course we only see the good side being portrayed and not the bugs/tough times (ha, the reference to all the bugs and regression testing which is obviously still happening beyond the scenes), but I hope every positive feedback in the forums make all the negative one worthwhile and constructive.
Yoshi-p is actually someone who really inspired me to move forward in life, I really liked to mention him to peers as a role model for a Director/Manager so I'd like to thank all the FFXIV team with all my heart. Hoping for another year of great updates!

I loved this event and meeting some of the devs in game! Thank you so much to everone who worked on this amazing game thank you so muc *group hug*
This was a really cool event and i hope the room will be accessible after it.
Maybe put the wandering minstrel back in mor dhana and let him teleport us from there or something.
Also i had a serious giggle when one of the devs was talking about the atma of scales which if i remember right is lower la noscea and the most annoying to get due the layout of the zone.

Lower La Noscea is the Fish. The Scales is from Central Thalanan, which was almost as annoying to get.
I really loved this event and getting to "talk" with all of the game developers. :3
