Why is Housing even desired?

I have a small house and while I have fun buying cozy expensive furniture once a while and decorate the House is a useless feature. Besides vanity and some minor advantages there is nothing to desire. I feel it's not rewarding to the owner. The only thing I like about it is that Inhave market board retainer bell and mender all very close with a cheap tp and without a crowded retainer bell. That's all. We still must run to Inns for aesthetician though which is dumb. I think housing needs to be something more and reward the owner better. After all it's supposed to be an investment. The other thing I don't like is that houses are isolated. Your friends need a map and instructions I order to pay a visit. It's really inaccessible for outsiders.

chocobo raising is pointless too? cause if you want your lv20 chocobo, you need a garden, a stable helps too. unless you only play FF14 for the "challenge", in that case i'll recommend FF11.

yes it's pointless, i didn't even do the introductory quest for chocobo raising/racing.. what's the point, really?
i could let others do the gardening, and just...pay them, or i could just use FC plots. or if there was no housing, i'm sure we could do gardening anyway - like a botanical garden, in BTN section of Gridania.
but i did make some thav onions, cause well...i had this house that no one wanted, but i wanted onions...and it was so stupid and time consuming, and stupid ppl putting onions on MB, for stupid prices, so i'll never do that again.
lv 20 chocobo is also stupid, since even at that lv 20, it's weak and stupid, cause it just stands there like a derp, and dies. and if i run away to the other side of the continent, it still attacks mobs, cause it's stupid, and stupid chocobo is dead chocobo - but it's ok, cause you can summon a clone of it, by dropping a gyshal green, on the ground.

i would maybe try XI, if it wasn't so ugly and stupid - and it has tarutaru who are ugly and stupid...except maybe Shantoto, who's still ugly and stupid, and i have her as a minion, and i wish i didn't, and i cant get rid of it /wrist.
and from what i hear, XI wasn't really any challenge anyway, just mind-numbing-grinding (which some stupid people thought was fun) and eh, i'm sure Alex Savage is challenging, though i haven't tried it yet.
i watched a let's-play of XI, and i can't unsee it. If they did a remake of it though...and deleted taru, i'd give it a try.
but atm i'm mostly just looking forward to XV - i'm sure there's stupid NPCs in it though, like your party members doing stupid things, cause of stupid AI.
I do like challenges though - the more hectic it gets, the better i perform, and the more fun i have. unfortuantly it requires other people, most of who are stupid, and die cause they just decided to walk off the island, in Bismarck EX, and Ravana EX, i guess.

Yes, so pointless - except when you want to make money by only tending your plants and sending out airships

/edit: add a cheap teleport to a place where i have no loading time due to no cluttering (unlike laglimsa) and everything i need (Retainers, MB, NPCs etc.) in one space


@OP: if you have housing: 100k are pocket change - use your garden - there are still items out there that can only be gardened and have quite a value

uhm, i don't care about gil, which is why i bought a house, and planned to give it away to some FC member. only stupid people care about gil, cause nothing worth having, can be bought with gil, except maybe buying Ravana EX wins, and only stupid people do that, and only stupid people sell that.
but yah, housing area is quite nice to get away from stupid people, and easy access to MB which is run by stupid people.

i don't want to be consumed by stupidity though - there's plenty of victims of that, already...mostly in america, middle east, north korea, sweden, africa, china, russia, india, australia, and the rest of europe.

I love having a FC house. I take personal pride in having made a lot of its furnishings and decorating my room with things I've made or earned from the stuff I've made. It's great to be able to stable, train, and dye our chocobos.

And if there were no housing market I wouldn't be making a bunch of money off selling items for it. ;D
