So we're left with either:
1) The team working on Azys Lla was on a tight schedule and dipped into the Sunken Temple kit instead of creating new textures.
2) The ruins on Azys Lla are not Allagan.
I think I know what most people here would vote for.
I was visibly frustrated while reading this.
Wow! What a post. This is the second time Ferne has teased that story about Sasamo. Hopefully the quest makes it in, but it's nice to hear that even if it doesn't, we'll eventually learn the history behind her and the steps.
Interesting, too, to know that the lore creation process goes both ways, from top-down when they have a good idea and bottom-up when the other teams need a way to make their work consistent with what's established. That answers a question I've been asking for a while now.
Flame of strength... Is this a typo? Or is the flame on Ul'dah's flag not related to the Flame of Magic? I thought that the symbolism was an indicator of how Ul'dah's strength centers on their devotion to wealth and magic...
I'd also come up with the theory that fallen Sil'dah might have represented the Helm of Might and the Fruit of Knowledge, each civilization having adopted two of the four symbols we find in the Sunken Temple. I don't think we ever see a Sil'dahn flag, though, so it was all just my own speculation.

Ul'Dah balances the Flame of Might and the Jewel of Prosperity.
Both of which are bastardizations of the Flame of Magic and the Gem of Affluence.
O-oh, goodness, the info about the Mhachi and that we're getting new lore on that in the future... my day has been made. Thanks for the info, Ferne! Come back and drop more lorebombs on us soon.

(using it as a quote) By thal's bloody balls ! this is amazing, i was kinda doubting if the Azys lla/qarn stuff would be replyed as YoshiP said. Thank you alot for atleast, confirm they are not the same, so we can speculate even more !
Regarding the thread, thank you for translating it, i went up all night to see it, but got disappointed when it was in japanese when there was nothing we could do, BUT on the brighter side, we can always check thist thread as many times as we want( unlike the other lore pannels, for example the thal's bloody balls one ( :P ) or the Grip thing about the dragoon's way of entraping the dragons etc.
Regarding the autograph, that was got unto my hands thanks to my friend that got to the EU fanfest, but i haven't still thanked you, so , uhm, thanks for singning it koji !

I hope it makes it into the game. Awesome lore post is awesome! The Eighty Sins of Sasamo
We talked a little bit about how some place names originate in Japanese and are translated into English, while others originate in English and are translated into Japanese. The Eighty Sins of Sasamo is one of the latter─the Japanese name being actually simpler than the English: The Eighty Steps of Sasamo. If you count, there are currently only 77 steps, but I confirmed that there were originally 80, with 3 being lost to erosion, earthquakes, and etcetera. The back story to this place name is actually quite complex, but instead of explaining it here, I want to do a proper explanation in game. In fact, I have already written the plot line of a quest that explains the story, but the problem is finding the right timing to implement it, what with the focus of the game shifted to the north and the areas around Ishgard. However, if I can’t find a place to slip the quest into the game by the 3rd anniversary, I’ll just tell the story at that 14-hour stream (if we do one).![]()
