Why does White Mage feel so bland?

Compared to the other two healers, who both now have AOE Regen, which after the lack of identity as a result of 2.55 traits being removed, seemed to be its final defining feature.

Don't get me wrong, AST really needed these buffs to become viable and more accessible as a class; however, in doing this, I believe that AST has the potential to rise to the popularity and maybe overshadow SCH given the sheer amount of raid utility that only it can provide.

Compared to WHM, which doesn't have any utility at all.

Maybe I'm ignorant, but I'm just finding less and less reasons to stay with my main, given that SCH and AST are now far more useful in endgame (hello Aspected Helios, Adloquium).

The only things WHM has to offer is its AOE regen (which was matched by Galvanize and Aspected Helios), and because of its new accessibility, I'm not sure there's a reason for people to keep playing WHM when there are far more loaded kits in other healing classes.

It will become more and more of a problem as more healing jobs are added (or jobs with support toolkits). Right now WHM brings absolutely nothing to the table other than heal strength, which sounds ok, but the healing requirement for 90% of FFXIV is set low enough that all 3 healers can solo-heal it currently. At this point it's basically "which healer has the most support since they can all handle the base healing requirement," to which, WHM falls the farthest.

It would be more balanced if the other jobs didn't have the capacity to solo-heal fights in the same way that WHM doesn't have the capacity to buff the party or debuff the enemy, but SE screwed up that balance long ago.

Gosh you are all so predictable with your knee-jerk WHM is dead threads. It's not dead. I'll be using both.

But it has less potency (and range!) than Medica II (which now has less potency than Aspected Helios).

AST now has more total base healing potency than WHM does in diurnal sect alone than WHM has in its entire kit. How is WHM going to be viable anymore?

Eos has had an AoE Regen long before WHM ever did. And AST also had their AoE Regen very early into their leveling. It really shouldn't be that much of a surprise.

I believe that AST has the potential to rise to the popularity and maybe overshadow SCH given the sheer amount of raid utility that only it can provide.
Selene has an "AoE Arrow" that is more reliable than the Card RNG. SCH also has better versions of Eye for an Eye and Virus while AST only has one debuff. Eos/Selene are basically like Synastry, except that they aren't effected by Cleric Stance.

If people like/are comfortable with the play style, they're going to switch. There's no denying or preventing that.

In terms of buffing other party members, no, because that's not how the class plays. However they provide amazing AoE and single target burst DPS (Stone III is the highest potency single target damage skill out of all the three healers). Their ability to sustain MP is much better than AST since they don't have to rely on Card RNG for MP in stressful healing situations. Assize is one of their most versatile skills, allowing them to do either a 300 potency attack (that can be used as an AoE. 300 potency already makes it one of the strongest skills in the game, but the fact that it's an AoE makes it that much better) or an instant MP-free AoE heal. Divine Seal is also a very unique skill to WHM with a very short cooldown.

Maybe I'm ignorant, but I'm just finding less and less reasons to stay with my main
If you find the class "bland" then maybe you should switch. You clearly have very little interest in the class currently.

    DPS.

I fully intend to continue playing WHM. I find the class very enjoyable and I find their toolkit suits my play style very well.
