Your thoughts on "Warden's Paean."

My warrior loves Wardens Paean \o/. Just sayin'. It has its practical uses and isn't entirely useless.

I remember testing this out once by casting it on myself and mounting my chocobo...

rode past a hostile target to aggro it and didn't dismount...

was inflicted with heavy after 2 or 3 hits...

'the proactive esuna' had at least 10 secs left on duration...

...think it could use some tweaks

The Warden's Paean is usually good for putting on the WAR pre-pull and during the closing 3s of downtime so they don't get pacified when Berserk drops. Aside from that, it's a waste of hotbar space.

It would be better if it was an ability instead of a spell. Have it affect everyone in range (25y of the caster), last the whole 30s until they are hit by a move that inflicts a cleanse-able debuff, and give it around a 60s to 90s recast. Either that, or give the song a ≤1.5s cast time like the rest of the cleanse spells and make its cast time scale highly with skill speed, and give it a ≤15s cooldown akin to Empyreal Arrow. SE should make the song a bit more attractive to use. The song is mostly good for filling a niche role with BRD x WAR synergy. Outside of that, it is hardly given the time of day.

Except it really is. If you though about this from a party perspective instead of a selfish one (war view) then you'd realize it.

Outside of prepull/boss immunity it's stupid.

How is he selfish for suggesting an actual practical use of the ability?
And really there are less useful abilities in the game, 1 ilm punch, freeze and tri-bind for example.

Sorry, no opinion since it requires WM (hence never used it before), and no self-respecting bard uses WM.

More like "no bard that wants to be blocked from endgame content parties uses WM." In every EX party and the few runs of Savage mode I've seen, if the BRD isn't using WM, they're being kicked and replaced immediately, it gimps your DPS too much not to use it (and makes certain DPS checks so much harder).

Warden's Paean doesn't require you to be in WM mode. However, I agree with you on the WM. No self-respecting bard will ever use it. I play the class for the mobility and not to be some pseudo caster wannabe.

You're right, you have no mobility with WM on. /sarcasm

never used it , 1 time when a war asked for it ....but the timing ...ugh....too soon or too late and is wasted

1 ilm punch is cool , u can remove buffs from enemies , but yeah kinda useless too .

Freeze / tri bind, aoe root , meh ....at least is AOE , bards have shadowbind single target bind
