Sorry, no opinion since it requires WM (hence never used it before), and no self-respecting bard uses WM.
Well, actually that's not true. There is one acceptable use of WM, which is to open with WM -> click all the buffs -> EA -> "ooohhh big numbers" -> click off WM -> back to the 2.X days of being a bard.
Here we go, BRD elitists. The world's gone to hells.
Closer to the topic, have yet to try it in actual content. It only works on my chocobo when I go solo, and my FC mates have yet to get to 57 stuff.
I've been using it at Ravana's Ex. There's no use in Bismarck Ex and no other fight yet, but it's got potential. Can see it being a good support skill in the near future if they put maybe a longer CD and remove the casting time.
Have not got it yet but looks like I should not be looking forward to it.

Playing since Beta phase 3
Warden's Paean doesn't require you to be in WM mode. However, I agree with you on the WM. No self-respecting bard will ever use it. I play the class for the mobility and not to be some pseudo caster wannabe.
To answer the OP's question, it's pretty useless with the 2+ seconds cast time which you have to cast for every individual and only lasts for 30 seconds to block 1 detrimental effect. In summary, don't bother using it.
Square Enix: "Don't want bards to be taking over healing duty, so let's remove that healing limit break! Also, bards, here's a pre-emptive Esuna that you can use that has a longer cast time than Esuna."
(I'm completely fine with the limit break change, but the mind boggles.)
"Pre-emptive Esuna", that's the part that drives me insane. Which means it's useless to so many mechanics in fights considering where certain debuffs go is entirely random.Square Enix: "Don't want bards to be taking over healing duty, so let's remove that healing limit break! Wow the fact that this isn't an instant ability makes this so tactically worthless. Instead of being able to use this when a cast bar for an important debuff starts on the target you're fighting so you can be certain of what debuff you're preventing here, I can see this working more randomly and perhaps being applied towards some lesser debuff that could have been easily Esuna'd. Like a stack of poison which is back anyway a couple seconds later.
This affirms my decision to change from maining Bard to Summoner/Scholar, I'm actually getting fun & useful abilities now.
Haha, yeah no it doesn't.
So, according to you, we should just remove WM from the game, so we can go back to the self-respecting ways of clicking all our buffs and doing "oooooh okay" numbers, while running in circles?
As for everyone calling a preemptive esuna useless, i'll assume you've never played any raid content before echo/nerfs came to nullify the importance of its mechanics. Assuming you know what's coming, a 30 second debuff ward could be a great stress relief to your healers.
There is literally no way to know how objectively useful the ability is because it was likely given to us for content we don't yet have access to.
