Well isn't Bahamut known to be the father of all Eidolons (avatars)? Therefor, would fit why the primals are "released" from him when he "dies" in that crash.

Can't say he doesn't look a bit like this version of Bahamut on the PSP : http://goo.gl/0axqC

This whole company update is to counter my movements to get the entire FFXIV community calling him Judge Vader, isn't it.

It didn't, it's just an assumption people have made.

I'd personally side with those suggesting it was Shinryu. The fact that he's absolutely gigantic, and that the other primals seemed to 'spawn' from his destruction kinda suggests to me it might've been some kind of greater primal, with the ones we come into contact with being a product of his death, or something...

Maybe that is the storyline in the upcoming expansions. The remerger of primals back into the source primal beit shinryu or bahamut to beat back the empire of the continent. Then we have to travel to the other two continents ourselves to beat them back more.

If you can join the empire I'm definitely in, not because I want the weapon or gear but I want to see their side of story, pretty sure there are good guys inside the empire.

They seem to be the only enemy at this point.

On the bright side I didn't know this world had three continents .
The way I'm sort of picturing how it could and I would like it to play out, I'm expecting the Garlean Empire to form a kind of 'always there' threat, where we deal with them frequently in the overworld events and company quests, and generally the story with them moves through collective effort (maybe collecting supplies and killing guys to meet company targets to progress as well as company quests to go out and help people dealing with garlean problems and glean some more info about them). That way we feel like the world is changing and we're helping to move it on as a group.

On top of that we'd have the storyline missions for each area (and new expansion continent we visit, where there'd probably still be a garlean threat but that would still be an overworld thing) that deal with the specific problems of that nation or whatever and treat your character as the hero ala classic FF stories and the way XI did it. That way we'd have a consistent threat, and a bunch of other potentially more epic ones to deal with.

I suppose after travelling about a bit and pushing the empire out of different places we'd wind up in Garlemald and have them and their culture as the centrepiece of the story, as well as their reasons etc.

So for example with our current scenario, I'd picture hamlet defence and continued assaults revolving around the Garleans mainly with a progression over a few months eventually pushing them out of all the zones of Eorzea (currently in the game or otherwise) and eventually pushing them back to Ala Mhigo where we have our lovely showdown with the general etc. Then we could have a main character storyline revolving around the Archons, meteor, dalamud and the umbral era approaching etc, with our character playing a key part in dealing with that problem.

Anyway, that's a way I'd like it to play out, so that all the current loose ends could be addressed in good, solid ways.

With their sudden boom of technology and how they grew from a small settlement quickly into the great force is obviously influenced by something they don't count as a celestial being.

    Maybe Alexander is controlling them?
