Does anyone else getting the feeling that the game is going to revolve around the garlean empire for a while. I could see us kicking them off this continent at some point but they own 2 other continents so we'll probably travel there and beat them? (seems risky). They seem to be the only enemy at this point.

On the bright side I didn't know this world had three continents .

So how awesome would it be if the Grand Companies defensive mission became an offensive one, where we begin expeditions to free the conquered lands, starting with Ala Mhigo and then going onward to the cities of the other continents. Each new city could have an entire story arc that ends with a showdown with one of the Legatus and finally taking back the city from the empire.

Some interesting tidbits there, I guess it confirms that dragon as a big-ass primal summoned by someone.

Hence why I said 'I guess'. The evidence is there though, Garlean invasion force coming, giant ship gets destroyed by huge dragon, Garleans stop attacking. We know they're persuing methods of summoning their own Primal, perhaps because they want to control that strength.

Probably referencing to the intro cutscene, where you see the empire attack and get halted by Bahamut followed by the crash of the airship in Mor Dhana.

Also in the cutscene, when Bahamut "dies" you see all the primals being shot out everywhere. Were they just released when he died? I thought there were worshiped by the beast tribes for a long time but if they were just released with that, it's like 30 some years ago no?... I'm confused.

In this cinematic, at around 6:00 you'll see them resulting of Bahamut's death http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XbxPsWFyU8. The 1st one you see is Ifrit I think, then Titan.. the rest we don't see but you can assume they are also Primals being released.

The description of Gaius' sword suggests he's a bit on the murderous side, even within Garlemald.

He definitely dose not seem to be the type to mince words.

I mean hell he activated one of the cannons on that monster of a ship in Mor doha because four adventurers were about to make him break a sweat.

But from a practical standpoint no. I don't see the empire accepting us adventurers into there ranks, mostly due to the echo. I would be willing to wager some advancements in technology for the city states coming from the ironworks though. Well as soon as were permitted by the company's to go "Acquire" some samples for them to tinker with.

Just to clarify, we do not know if the dragon who attacked the airship was Bahamut. In fact, if you watch the intro video, he looks nothing like Bahamut. My personal guess would be Shinryu.

Where does it say that was Bahamut in that cutscene? It looked more like the dragon god Shinryu in my opinion. Just saying
