Well, if we're absolutely certain the Void Ark is a completely new (e.g. not related to Allag) bit of lore, the only things it could be are

1. Pre-Allagan tech. We know absolutely nothing about the civilizations predating Allag, so anything is possible.

I don't think (or want) it to be another Allagan Ship. Design-wise it's not very Allagan at all and the glowy bits are not like how the Allagans and now Garlean do it.

In a way it does look organic in a way and who's to say that one of the 3 warring nations were not able to reverse-engineer Allagan technology and add in their Void magic? Make a ship and then bing voidsent to it ... tada Void Ark

I agree that all those coffins look like stasis pods and with it being a Void Ark then perhaps its original purpose was to transport survivors to and from the Void whilst a Calamity was taking place? Something went wrong and now the people in those coffins are either dead/zombies or are still sleeping.

Also, what is that tower on the bottom left? Maybe after clearing the Ark we go to that tower? Like how we went to the WoD?

That tower might be a zoom in of what's on top of the Ark. Like the control deck we're going to make our way to, or start at.

Again, I hope not. Thus far, being a side-story all but guarantees a conclusion that leaves the entire sequence of events and revelations completely isolated. If we were to find out what happened to Val in a side-story, those revelations on their own could never be reflected in the main scenario, meaning the Scions (if/when they return) would likely never get closure on that particular event.

The only two exceptions so far are Estinien and Bahamut. You will note, however, that certain unsavory details of Estinien's absence from Ishgard are kept to the Dragoon 30-50 quests, just as the precise nature of Bahamut's imprisonment in Dalamud is still a revelation contained to the Binding Coil. The borderline exception is Alphinaud, who exposits relevant information from the Final Coil story in Heavensward, but without disclosing precisely where he learned any of that info.
