I think you're forgetting that a large number of people are of the opinion that anima should be nixed. Just saiyan

Anima will never be nixed unless some other limitation is added in its place.
You know, when I played the very first alpha version, i thought that the teleport option in the menu was simply there to facilitate testing (at that time, it was unlimited, as well) and that we were going to use spells, airships, chocobos, etc. to teleport. Then they put in anima and it hit me "they're making instant teleport from the menu permanent. WTF?"
i knew right then and there that people would immediately want to instantly transport anywhere and that other forms of transport would automatically be slower and underutilized, and that if teleport was ever later taken away in its current form, the spoiled playerbase would rage and backlash.

You knew did you? Knew? Really... knew. As in, "It already happened. As in, people aren't using chocobos and airships because there's anima.", when that isn't even the argument anyways. You knew even prior to the implementation of chocobos and airships into Final Fantasy XIV that the playerbase would rage and backlash for something that hasn't even happened or is likely to even happen? {Congratulations}. Did you also know that people would be screaming for airships and chocobos upon release even when they had anima? Oh no? Weird...Anima will never be nixed unless some other limitation is added in its place.

The argument is that you want the option taken from other people so that you can make sure that they are indoctrinated the same way that you are. Maybe they should change their names too and should be banned for saying "lol". Why not? Like, I don't understand. The immersion folks were the ones who wanted to keep the optimal rank system. Their gameplay excuse, which I agree with, was that having the options was a good thing. Now, it's not good enough that they have the choice whether or not to see the airship cutscene, everyone must view the cutscene. There are few more poorly supported premises than the ones being used to justify forcing people to view the same cutscene/airship ride every time they get on the boat. It's either, "they aren't playing how I want them to play." or "FFXIV is WoW." You're going to have to come up with something better than that for me to even start listening to you to be honest. I have yet to find any convincing argument for not allowing people to skip a tedious cutscene.
I'll be monitoring the two threads until I see one.

airships should not be instant. If you're in so much of a hurry, use your anima. All this instant travel is completely undermining the point of mounts/chocobos, not to mention the feeling/imersion of a huge world.
