Theres a thing called anima

<STORYTYME>For all you people who are like "YAY INSTA AIRSHIP RIDE DURP LETS DO IT TO THE FERRY" I have news flash for you. There is a thing called anima. There doesn't have to be a time paradox going on or bending reality or whatever you would call it(I know its a game a fantasy game, but there still has to be some laws of nature). If you want something instant please use the anima SE gave you, if you don't have 1-5mins to spare(just guessing how long it would take to ride the airship). This is just silly, I don't even know how you guys think. If you could enlighten me on your ways, I would be in much appreciation. THE END </STORYTYME>

What's wrong with option, if you want the 10min ride sure, go ahead. If others want to skip the ride and reach there immediatly, there is no harm to anyone. Why does it bother you?

I am constantly out of/low on anima. If SE made teleporting to the 3 main cities free, and added the 5 minutes airship ride for fun I wouldn't mind. As it is, when I want to be somewhere, I don't want to wait 10 minutes for the thing to show up and sit on it for 5 minutes to get to where I want to be and preserve "immersion". I want to play the game, not sit on a dumb airship all that time. After the first ride it is just dumb. I can go to the city IRL if I want to wait for public transportation. This is why I hated ffxi. Everything took forever. With this game I can long in, play for however long I want and leave. I like that.

Do it on your freetime if you wants to enjoy the scenery, since you have so much time to watch the scenery. The novelty of riding airship/boat is gone after the first time. There are alot of scenarios in FFXI which makes alot of people facepalmed because of this dumb as *** rides.

There are times when i got back late from work, people are already gathered at einherjar spot but to get there you need to ride a boat to that whatever town from whitegate and makes the other players waits even longer just for the sake of me, in the end events could get pushed 1hour behind schedule.

I am not sure where is the fun or how do i find the decency in keeping the others waiting because i wanted to enjoy the scenery, but each to their own.

I play for entertainment, not a time sink. I don't get super involved with the dungeons because they take hours of setup(for success) and I don't have time for that. Riding the airship won't be much help for parties anyway except to meet in a certain city. for instance I would like to have my HP be Gridania, but with the market wards and most people staying in Uldah I just leave my HP there. If I have to wait for airship to meet my friends I will just teleport. If I have to wait 15 minutes to go check if an item is for sale I will just teleport. Adding the airship as a time sink is stupid, there are plenty of ways to waste time. I want to be entertained. It is call PLAYING for a reason.

Don't forget that taking the airship will be a much-needed gil sink and keeping the anima cost for teleporting will encourage people to pay the fee for the airship. I don't know why you are so vocal about taking away our option to play how we feel, we aren't asking for yours to be taken away.

I would think that most people would use their anima if there was something going on and they were needed right then. You never mentioned that aspect in your 'story time'. From reading your first post it sounds like you expect people to use anima 24/7 every single time they need to go somewhere. If they aren't being waited on by someone then what do you care how they use their time?

For someone who plays every day, this isn't a logical use of anima. If I am not in a rush and not needed right then by someone then no, I do not use my anima and I will gladly run or take the boat. Why should I waste my anima when I am not in a rush, or not needed right away by someone?

If you are meaning for people to use their anima in an instance where they are needed at that moment for a dungeon/party etc and you have had too wait on people for this fact... then that needs to be specified because your OP doesn't state that exact fact.

Anyway I remember many instances in FFXI where it took a while to get from point A to point B and parties would have to wait 10-15+ minutes for the new members to get there. Other times it wasn't as bad as that... seems to me if you always hate on people for taking longer than you deem necessary you might run out of people to party with by not wanting to party with them anymore.
