I know it is, but sometimes, lore driven mechanics are just bad. For example, in this particular case, lore is telling us, that some veins of ore are just accesible during particular times of the day... Which makes no sense. And, unspoiled mechanic in general, is one of the things that has kept many players away from gathering as a whole.
Is very annoying to delay your game time in bits just because you can`t gather when you want but only when the game allows you.
GW2 handles this with a 24 hour cooldown for the nodes of the rarest materials, each player decides when he goes for said nodes during those 24 hours. He can`t gather more than any other player, but he can decide when to do it. Considering the eorzean day is arround 70 minutes, just let players go for their nodes once each 70 minutes.
