Any reason to launch A4 Savage as an impossible raid?

Current content end game bosses are not and should not ever be beaten within a week or two of release. If they are then the gear progression was to low or to easy for it and it was never a challenge to begin with.

My guild in wow wiped on Blackhand 102 times before getting our kill. The average ilvl of the entire group went up by 6 before we got it. Closer and closer each time. Some screw ups and misplacements of abilities but we eventually got it. People that cannot down something the moment of release have an unrealistic expectation of boss fights and end game content.

Lots of people just enjoy the game and are reasonable about things. Going off some of your examples, yes maintenance is a reality we have to face to ensure data integrity and good quality of service, and yes they have to cut back on frequency of making dungeons if they want to produce higher amounts of other types of content due to human limitations.

Maybe A4 Savage is designed to be cleared in item level 210/200 gear, available in the same patch that Alex savage was introduced. It's just that you cannot instantly get a full set of this stuff.

If you don't need the gear from earlier bosses to beat the last boss in the instance what is the point of even having gear progression? This is a vertical progression MMO - you get better gear to beat bosses, not to show off your item level.

I know this is nitpicking, but you may want to put "mythic" in there as it's an important distinction. Especially for anyone unfamiliar who may look up the fight.

we are on the 5th week. Based on the clear dates of the top teams(teams that cleared a3s week 2), the following is the absolute most upgrades they can obtain at the moment:
esoterics to date: 2250. pretty much all top teams got their weapon 1st, so 1260 left to spend on gear upgrades so from 1-3 extra i200 pieces that will be upgraded to 210.
a1s accessories including week 4: 18 (10+8 "free" ones)
a2s: 10 gear drops, 5 gobcoats, extra 8 combination of gobcoats or waist
a3s: 8 gear drops, 4 gobtwines, plus and extra 8 gobtwines

some may be saving their gordian manifestos for next week a2s and the following week for a3s gear upgrades instead of opting for eso upgrades considering, RNG is RNG. they could have got multiple healing drops instead of dps gear.

But most people believe a4s will be cleared sometime between now and 2 weeks.

How long did it take T5 to fall originally? Wouldn't that be an appropriate comparison?

I don't think so. T5 didn't fall originally because of glitches, not because of lack of skill or gear.
