New housing area in Ishgard will be very affordable?

It's kind of funny. Lots of people would like Ishgard housing, even I think it's a cool idea. The more I think about it though, where in Ishgard would the Holy See allow adventurers to build a "home"?

Even if we saved the city, do you really think that would change the nobles minds to let us live among them?

I don't think the lore would really allow many other places than "The Brume". If you read the story and didn't skip cutscenes you may know what I'm talking about. :P

So yea, if we can buy housing in the Brume soon possibly, it might be fairly cheap? Or would the noble elven in Ishgard charge us a arm and a leg to live in such squalor?

You guys know the Brume is the slums of Ishgard right? All the half dead and peasants of the city live there... I kind of was making a point that the lore doesn't allow for us to move into Ishgard... :/
I guess I was kinda dumb to assume people read the cutscenes ...

I'm going to go with, "No!". It won't be. It will most likely be set up just as it was when it first came out, were the amount of circulating gil in the server set the prices. So, if "you" want a house the moment the wards open. You best have at least 20mil to be safe.

No, housing will never be cheap. Plots will always be limited and the prices will always be high to serve as a huge gil sink.

After all the different ways SE has squandered their opportunities to make Housing a fun feature that everyone can enjoy...

I seriously doubt they will introduce housing wards in a highly requested area cheaper than any other housing wards, regardless of your mentioned lore reasons. Haven't we had enough drama involving housing???

I'm back tracking on the 20 million I first suggested and upping it up to 60 million. That is just for a chance of a small house.

If anything, I'd expect the prices to be higher. It's not a lore thing, it's an SE thing.

And this is also what the lore would allow adventurers to move into if read the story. This is probably why SE said at first there probably wouldn't be any housing in Ishgard until they fit in a reason for it to work in the story.

They're not going to make people move into the slums, they'll just create a new housing area out of nowhere and have people go there.

No, we did. We just know how SE works. Slum or not, we have a hard time imagining SE making it cheap. Again, it's not a lore thing. On the large servers... given the current state of the economy, I'd guess 40m for whatever the small option is.
