Is there a way to get the effects of the grit itself without showing the "buffed" glow on the character (ie, the dark aura on the sword and the 'clock hands' around the character, but without the 'flames' on the character, i tried "limited effects which removed the former, not the latter.)

No, the effect is the whole thing, you can't separately toggle stuff on it.

Yup! I always wanted to be a male mithra, and this will be the closest I'll ever get to that XD
