Relic are specifically weapons that evolves, in case you can't compare a Curtana to an Excalibur Zeta. It's just that you don't like vertical evolution, so it's not the game for you, at least, yet.

They only 'evolve' up to level 135. If they really wanted them to maintain their appeal, they'd make them evolve to level 215 so they're up to par with the best in the game.

They became lvl99 because people were bitching exactly like now, and it was, again, when level cap reach its final peak after 5 expansion. Point is, we know nothing of how the game will "end", and you're already complaining about people not having to do all your hard work.

I fail to see how having a higher level cap changes the point I was making, but kudos for completely missing the point. The point was that when a patch was released which upgraded levels and weapons in FFXI, the relics leveled up with them. It doesn't matter what the end level for ARR is, nor do I really care, the fact remains that the current relics have not leveled with the release of Heavensward and according to Yoshi, never will.

Also, where did I complain about other people not having to do my hard work? In fact, I actually support the idea of making relics easier to obtain for the very reason that they're pretty worthless at the moment. Even in FFXI they nerfed the earlier stages of the relics to make them easier to obtain and they were worth a lot more there than our versions are. I have my relics, I like my relic, but I'm not stupid enough to think it's some rite of passage that everyone has to overcome the exact same trials as I did. Nerf it to the ground for all I care. More people with relics can only be a good thing, and I have a lot more jobs to earn them on!

If you actually bothered to read any of my post, you'd notice I support the idea of having relic mean something. If they meant something, it would mean the hard work you put into obtaining it would be justified. Only in that instance would I feel that they shouldn't be easy to obtain. You don't give the best weapons in the game away for free, after all, and having something truly powerful to aspire towards is a genuinely good addition.

It would make those who overcame those trials stand out from the crowd, both in performance and as a symbol of their efforts. The current relics, unfortunately, don't even remotely live up to this promise and, if we're being honest, never really have. So, give us that unique property to make them worth owning, or make them easy to obtain so that everyone can have the chance. Either way is fine with me, but I don't understand why everyone covets these zodiac weapons when they're basically just a fancy reskin.
