In order for Ishgard to form a Company it'd first have to become a starting city. There's really no precedent of a successful Company outside of the starting cities.

A lot of people wish that PVP was separated from GCs...That being said though, because of the PVP thing I highly doubt we'd see a fourth grand company added, I feel as though if they ditched the PVP it would be much more feasible. But I already know the PVP is here to stay so I'm not going to get my hopes up. But I can still dream! Maybe they will add some more stuff when they add the new GC content that Yoshi said was coming.
I'll add to that notion myself! But I digress, that's not really the purpose of this thread. I REALLY want an Ishgardian faction like that. Hell I'd settle for a faction like the beast tribes where you do dailies at this point, so long as I got some Ishgardian titles, things like "Ser," "Knight-Captain," "Knight-Commander," etc.A lot of people wish that PVP was separated from GCs...

And that's a bad thing? 99% of MMOs have multiple factions that players can side with for added benefits or gear.
I can't see them handling new factions any differently than they did in Final Fantasy XI;
You travel to Aht Urhgan, join Salaheem's Sentinels, but you're still a part of whatever nation you picked in the vanilla game.
You travel back in time, while in the present you might be part of Bastok (or San d'Oria or Windurst), in the past you can join Windurst (or San d'Oria or Bastok).

But with Ishgard rejoining the Eorzean Alliance, it'd be the perfect time for them to start one now that they're letting in traffic from the rest of the country. Don't see any real necessity for it to be converted to a starting city and not just a GC option for characters that've unlocked it or finished the 3.0 MSQ.
Right now Ishgard has only come into the Eorzean Alliance. They have an acting leader, rather than a full leader of their nation. The actual leader is currently unaccounted for (he's dead, Jim!), but that's being kept hush hush for now for fear of disrupting the citizenry and causing chaos in a fragile Ishgard. They need to get their bleep together before they can even think about contributing a Grand Company into the fray lol

I think ill stay Adders. There's also the fact that i must've killed an entire platoon's worth by now...(loldrk)
